Okay so.... I signed up again with stumble upon and stumbled a few related blogs. Now what? Do I have to sign in everyday and stumble blogs... what's the point of this? I signed up with Digg to. Also adding a little "add this" button below my post. My feeling is that most people that stop by will not even know what the hell a stumble or digg is.... I sure didn't know lol!

Now I have to add friends? How in the world do I do that. I don't know anyone! This seems like a waste of time. Please convince me other wise!

Stumble is kinda fun. You install the stumble bar in your browser, and then you can click the stumble button to see websites in the category of your choice. There's the thumbs up button and the thumbs down button so you can indicate if you liked the site you were given or not. You can give your own blog or any other page you view the thumbs up or share it with your friends and it will hopefully generate some views from other people, or at least that's how I've understood it. You don't need to sign in every time, just use the stumble toolbar.

Digg I haven't used so much, but it seems you have to log in every time you want to Digg something...?

I had that tool bar a year ago and it was a mess on my cp. I just don't get it at all... people are saying that they get traffic from it but it seems that you have to broadcast that your on stumble and ask people to stumble in order to see any traffic.

I never broadcasted anything about stumble, nor added any friends yet. I just gave my blog the thumbs up once, and I get a few views from it every now and then.

I have been using Digg for a long time now. not because I want to drive traffic to my blog but because there are some good links people put in there. The idea is to share the things you read for others. The reason you would put it on your blog is if one of your readers that use digg can post one of your blog posts to digg. I had a few of my posts go to digg and they never got popular but they did receive a hundred hits more than normal.

The send-to button is there to send pages to your friends. But how many do you send? It has nothing to do with the amount that you send, but what you send. If you are only sending your own blog posts, SU obviously knows you are marketing your own site – and will probably discount the stumbles on your blog. You need to use stumbleupon as it was meant to be used to avoid being banned.
