I had launched a new website where people would say nice things about one another and then post links to their sweetshout onto their Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. The idea was to publicly flatter the person online. One thing I kept hearing from people though was that they didn't have many nice things to say. This kinda brought me down, but none the less I created a site where people can complain and be negative, or as I call it be sour.

My question is, would you rather be positive or negative? If you really had to say something about a person, would you be sweet or sour? I guess I just assumed people would have plenty of nice things to say. Thanks for your input and let me know!

I also wrote an article about the two new websites if you'd like to look into it further. tinyurl.com/yingandyang

I'd rather be honest. If I like someone, I'll tell them. If I dislike someone, I'll also tell them. Trying to pigeonhole my responses to "nice" or "mean" would be erroneous, because they depend on the individual.

Would I use this service? Probably not. If I want to say something nice to a person, I will do so in a one-on-one basis.

True, I see what you're saying. The difference between saying it one-on-one and on the site is that on the site you post a link so all of your friends can see how you feel about a person. Kinda like screaming you love someone off of a roof top so to speak, but in a digital way. Thanks for your feedback though.

Yeah, but I don't think the public cares or needs to know about my subjective feelings towards other people. It's between me and them and nobody else.

I thought it would be nice for others to see nice things being said about others. Considering how much hate & gossip is put in front of us daily. Obviously you think otherwise, to each his own I suppose.

I can't see it impacting the hate or gossip that much, but good luck nonetheless.

    Joey - I think it's a nice thing...

A nice way to publiscize a shout out to someone else - nice or not...

    And a link back.

I think it should be called the YING YANG site.

    Not a bad idea.

GET RID OF THE tiny url - people hate clicking on small links.

    It feels cloaked... Yanno?

It was hard for me to find a decent domain, but I thought sweet and sour sounded catchy.

Thanks for the tip about the TinyURL. I haven't been onto Blog Catalog in ages and I guess my etiquette isn't so great. I'm used to shortening my URLs for Twitter, seems second nature now. I don't think I can change it now though. :/

Yes, it's a new project. I had orininally started SweetShouts so people could say nice things about one another, spread niceness online. But, I kept hearing people say they didn't have many nice things to say so I started SourShouts.
