Discussions

On September 27th, join 1,000s of bloggers around the world in BlogCatalog's Blogging for a Great Cause Challenge.

This Blogging Challenge will be:

Bloggers Against Abuse
September 27th, 2007

The Outcome we are after is to be part of the largest group of bloggers to ever blog about an important cause, all on the same day.

So how do you participate?

On Sept. 27th, blog about putting an end to some sort of Abuse (you decide what kind of abuse to blog about).

In the meantime though,

* Spread the word among all the bloggers you know. Perhaps even give them a link to this Discussion.

* If you are a graphic's designer, perhaps you can come up with some small badges announcing the event, that we can then place on our blogs. To share the badge, place it on this thread.

* List any organizations, on this thread, who are involved in putting an end to abuse.

What do you get?

You will receive a link to your Blog Post from the Blogcatalog blog when we list everyone who participated.

You get to use your blog for an important cause.

You get to create blogging history.

    Thanks, will do.
I have designed a few logos on my blog, not a graphic designer, but will have a go.

    Cheers

I seen that many was blogging about child, animal, or drug abuse. I decided to blog about a different kind of abuse. www.connect06.com/blogroll/bloggers-unite-against-abuse-92707/
  2. morinn
great post siteproplus! couldnt have been clearer than that! I'm in!
  3. TonyB
mrsnesbitt...very cool. Thanks! I will ask Oscar to create some too.

scorpy... this can be for Animal Rights as well. Not just 4 us humans.
    1. AAACopywriter
      Me too, me too!
  6. scorpy01
    Yeah, I caught that.

Thanks for giving us such a broad topic. This should make it very easy to get as many people as possible involved.
  7. TonyB
My bias is to give animals a voice
  8. clioandme
Are you talking about abuse of creatures (including humans) or substances?
  9. TonyB
For you stonedman, i think its the substance abuse.
    1. clioandme
You're making some wild assumptions there---especially for a dog who can't get his foot out of his ear.
    2. TonyB
      Sorry Stoneman... I couldn't resist.

Bloggging against substance abuse is a great idea.

By the way, it's actually in my ear as I missed what I really wanted to scratch by a couple ft.
  10. identikit
    stoned man ?? hi hi
  11. v1ctorya
huhmm ,since my blog tends to deal with abuse anyway, I'll def. start thinking of a special article. Child and animal abuse are what I'm most outspoken against IRL, they def. need a voice that others will hear and care about.
  12. dharmagypsy7
    I am in too..
  13. morgan9405
Very cool idea. It gives everyone a chance to write about an aspect they may have experience. I'm in.....

I can try my hand at a couple logos too, I feel special that it got used to...I know it was mentioned in there before but hey, My vote counted!

Hope it all goes well for everyone and I can't wait to see what everyone writes!

  19. scorpy01
I'd love to blog about this and get the word out but I'm waiting on the creative folks to give us some graphics. /hint
  20. lasunrose
This is a great way to generate awareness of a broad range of society inflictions. Abuse is looked upon as fun and humorous by too many ill-minded people.
  21. Nesmuth
I can blog about ending restraining order abuse.
  22. Norski
Okay. Apathetic Lemming has a post about this. Let's keep the idea near the top, particularly as September 27 approaches.
  23. TonyB
Im waiting to have the graphics uploaded. I have them so if any of you want me to email them to you, please let me know and I will. My email is tony (at) blogcatalog.com
  24. tetsujin
These, I am assuming, are what we are to include/can include in any graphics we would make?

    Cameron
  25. TonyB
They are graphics that you can include to promote the event. They are really nice. Nine should have them online today.
  26. tetsujin
Awesome, sounds good and I can't wait for them to be up, curiosity gets the better of me...*acts patient*

Great - count us flowers in.
  31. NINE
I made a bloggers unite logo that I thought might be cool and some badges to support the cause, we could probably link them to blog.blogcatalog.com/category/community-challenge/

    What do you guys think?
    1. Norski
      They're all well-conceived and executed.

Thanks for providing a variety of related styles. I've got 'mine' picked out for one of my blogs already. And, an idea for what to write about.

Back to the variety: I really appreciate that. You've got squarish, high, wide, simple, not-so-simple, and all with a color scheme that's simple enough to fit into many page designs.
    2. bluecyberman
wow, wonderful. Can I have one of these on my blog?

      => www.CyberLearningHub.com

      Thank you in advance!

      Cheers!
    3. TonyB
bluecyberman... yes..that's what they are here for. Copy and add any of them you like.

    15. PetLvr
Can you (or anybody) create something similar to, or modify that bloggersunite_cause2.jpg for animal abuse for me? one the same width (for sidebar) and possibly a banner like fannullone created below?
    16. robinsonjoel
      I used the red one!
  32. identikit
they all look very nice. good job
  33. TonyB
    Nine... the badges are beautiful.

The blog doesnt mention the new ause. In the meantime, it may be beter to link posts to this until we get this new challenge onto the blog.

    www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/you-can-be-a-part-of-blogging-history
  34. scorpy01
I like the Stop The Abuse one. A lot.

    Thanks!
  35. TonyB
Me too Scorpy. Nine is super talented.
  36. scorpy01
I've got my badges up and thought I'd share how I linked them, in case anyone else wants to do the same.

I used the small Bloggers Unite badge linked to the blog category for Community Challenge. That way, it can be a permanent badge on my blog and it will be updated as the blog is updated with more community challenges.

I put the larger, date-specific badge in my far right sidebar with a link to the Stop Abuse entry in the blog. I figure I'll change that one as there are more community challenges. The size and location should alert more people to it and hopefully, they'll click it out of curiosity.

So far, I've posted about the Stop Abuse event on just one of my blogs. I'll do a post on my other blogs over the next few weeks. In my post, I linked to this discussion.

Hope we can get more bloggers involved.
  37. TonyB
    Scorpy this looks great www.mydandelionpatch.com/

The only thing is the dimensions of the badge are larger than the orginal one so the badge looks slightly blury.

Your post is a great example and will make it easier for more bloggers to get involved.
    1. scorpy01
Fixed the graphic. It wasn't the size, though. I had saved it as a jpg and that's how it turned out. I went back and saved as a png and it's all better now. I'd love to know why that happened if anyone knows. If not, I'll just blame it on Vista.
  38. TonyB
    Marisa,

This is a great post about why bloggers should unite.

    www.mydandelionpatch.com/2007/08/11/stop-the-abuse/

    Tony
    1. scorpy01
Thanks, Tony. I'm going to space the others out on my other two blogs.

The more people who blog about it before the event, the more bloggers will see it, especially through technorati, google's blogsearch or here.

And posting about it at forums will help, too.
  39. SportsNarrative
I will be adding one of the graphics shortly and posting about it on my blog.

I have a few questions. What are we going to do, if anything, to alert bloggers beyond Blog Catalog? Obviously the posts on our blogs will go a long way to doing that, but what about more direct means?

I plan on posting a thread on it in a webmasters board I have started frequenting, under the "Blogging" section.

What about press releases to mainstream media? Anyone have experience in this area?
  40. TonyB
SportsNarrative .... we will have a press release put together and distributed this coming week.

Probably are a bunch of other ways to get the word out including on other social networks.
  41. morinn
I've put the badge in my sidebar today.
    1. TonyB
Morinn ... it looks good |-

      www.morinn.blogspot.com/
  42. Parabunny
How do you link to a picture in blogger?
    1. Parabunny
Nevermind. I managed to get it right. Sidebar badge up now.
    2. TonyB
Parabunny ... your blog is great. The sidebar badget for Stop the Abuse looks good too. Thx

  46. fated82
I will do my part to spread the word in the blogging community in Singapore.

However, is there any avenue where those who are interested can register and leave down the name, blog, email etc? I am confuse here. Thanks!
  47. SportsNarrative
I have posted my first short essay on Bloggers Uniting Against Abuse:

    sportsnarrative.blogspot.com/2007/08/bloggers-unite-against-abuse.html

and have also posted one of the logos in the body of the post. Hopefully I will be putting one of the logos in my sidebar in the near future (just trying to figure out how best to do it...)
    1. scorpy01
Excellent article. And I love the abuse your writing about. Fits perfectly with your blog.
  48. SportsNarrative
Hi scorpy01. Cheers. I read your article as well and noticed that you hadn't decided on a topic yet. Have you had any thoughts about what particular abuse you'll blog about?

    What about other people?
    1. scorpy01
I'm doing abuse of Pit Bulls for sure on one of my blogs. I might do drug abuse on another blog, not sure yet. Both are issues that are important to me.
  49. alcoment
Hi. I'm new to both blogging and blogcatalog but would love to take part in this. I work with victims of all different types of abuse, so it's something close to my heart. Good cause.

      elderly abuse
    6. thegoodknife
      web developer abuse.
    7. ramayadi
      blog abuse
  52. morinn
hihi... i see that some of us have already started talking about abuses already?
  53. TonyB
We can also talk about HOPE!

Focusing on the positive can be another way to blog about this because when we share what someone became after going through a horrible period, or how he or she made a huge contribution to a particular cause b/c they were empowered to make a difference after the abuse, we provide hope for others who have experienced or are experiencing something similar.

This positive approach can also be whether we blog about animals, political, human rights abuse.
    1. scorpy01
Excellent point! I like that perspective.
  54. kickingback77
I will be posting about blood diamonds on my website on Septmeber 27th.

    1. morinn
Borzack, it is just my opinion but I think if you use the badges as they are, they will look more striking against your green color scheme. and you've got some red on your blog too, with the strawberry!
    2. NINE
Send me a private message in my shoutbox with your email, I can send you the working .psd files and you can do whatever you would like with them.

I'm in. I'll be linking this to my 15 blogs. Hopefully, we'l get a lot of bloggers to join in!

    Great idea!

I think I may blog about the abuse of non payment of child support. What's up with non custodial parents not paying child support? The system is horrible! (Notice I wrote non custodial and not "men" because I've come across cases of women that have abandoned their kids and refused to pay child support.) Take care of your kids financially......even if you don't want to be in their lives! Geez........

nice logos but they are generic and people will wonder what sort of 'abuse' is being referred to. I'd re-create the template so we could put a term before the word abuse like "stop _________ abuse." We could add the cause we are most interested in.
  104. irishspacemonk
Sounds like a great idea. I'll see what type of badge I can come up with Graphic Design wise and I'll of course post a editorial cartoon regarding the issue at www.pixelmarx.com

I've added the badges to both my blogs and will also spread the word.

As a farmer, animal abuse is high on my list. As an Internet marketer, abuse of personal information also ranks high.

    Expect posts about both.

Oh, Sarah, the "spinach fits" says she wants to blog about animal abuse too, from a dog's point of view... can't wait to see what she has to say...

I am all for this...someone very close to me is struggling thru a divorce right now because of this issue.
I even wrote a poem about it:

    Twisted Logic by Coldplay
why is it that the bad can get away with bad
while the good are hurt and bruised
led by their goodness into jeopardy
    character sometimes seems foolish
a beautiful woman who loves a man
    becomes a lady in red
    with a blue undercoat?

abuse divorce is evil it preys on
    the abused
    lawyers suck at it
    judges don't seem to care

I am not sure if illiteracy counts, but the world certainly has it's share of abuses in withholding education. My blog promotes the English language, but I have created a banner on the top page located at my.e-homework.info/blog/ that anyone is free to use.

Additionally, I created several versions of the banner and placed it at my.e-homework.info/blog/free/. Feel free to use these too!

As usual, human abuse looks like it will be well covered. I'll probably take the environment angle. Great idea if it helps just a little. Rather than write about something personal, that happened to you, I'd challenge anyone to write from someone(thing) else's points of view.

I am so defiantly in. I have over ten blogs, some of which are not listed here on blog catalog(on my to-do list)and I will blog about this on all of them. My abuse post are going to be about driving abuse. My son was killed while playing in my driveway on May 19/2007 and It was all because someone abused their driving priveledges. I have more about this on my blog at memoryofgajejeffereyflorence.blogspot.com/ if anyone wants to check it out. It has the full story. I will also be starting post about this goal on here. That same week, there were over 24 children who died from a vehicle in Oklahoma alone. This was in just that week. Since then, there has been at least one report on the news about a child dying due to a vehicle. Sad isn't it?

This is a conversation among the already converted. What do you do with skeptics who think this is too vague, or have other causes to worry about, or who think causes have no place on their blogs? Or what about those who are just plain apathetic?

I myself vacillate among skepticism, apathy, and a few other places. How do you get me on board? And how do you get the fence-sitters on board?

Stoneman, we focus on people who arent apathetic and who believe that we can all do good with our blogs.

Abuse in any form is to be fought.
    1. clioandme
I get dizzy every time I see your avatar.

I'll give the abuse thing some thought. I fight against various kinds of it in my own way, but I suppose a blogging stand could work. Heck, maybe I can even come up with something history related. One blog already has the label "using and abusing history", but that would make more sense if the use and abuse was tied to other kinds of abuse. Well, said post about Stalin actually does do that too. Okay. I'll put on my thinking cap. Meanwhile, I still think it would be nice if people gave their reasons for participating. i am actually disappointed that more people here haven't tried to offer more in the way of motivation, which could help get others involved too.

Actually, I've got related posts on my tumblelog too. it will just be a matter of how I frame the thing
    2. louis3030

The Gender Minister has reacted to public outrage surrounding a judge’s decision to clear four men of rape after they broke into a twelve year old girl’s room to have sex with her, by saying “Maldives is not an exception,” when it comes to child abuse.

Asked to comment on speculation in Haveeru that the Gender Ministry has evidence showing the Maldives has the highest rate of child abuse in the world, Aishath Didi said, “child abuse happens in the Maldives and the government is concerned about this. But what happens is within the norm of other countries.”

I was going to write on free speech and against censorship. Knife's red logos are already downloaded and hosted. This past week I was also working on a post about BlogCatalog. Thing is that I'm now conflicted after having a number of posts on this forum removed. I just spent a bunch of time wandering around this site looking for a person to email and discuss it with rather than posting, and all I could find was a webmaster email.

Regardless, anyone person who cares and blogs about abuse, raises awareness of it, and offers readers constructive ways to recognize and oppose it, has my support.

Sounds like a good broad topic. This could also be abuse of the earth, as in strip mining or global warming--of which glaciers are melting. Check out the book An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore. It is full of scientific data, but easy to understand.
  267. serendipitous
I love your causes! Count me in.

Count me in! I still have to think about what kind of abuse to write about, there's so much. As a European living in an African/Arabic country I see different types of abuse going on every day so I feel rather overwhelmed by all the different topics I could come up with. Children working instead of going to school, abandoned children, foreigners abusing children, illiteracy, poverty....

I hope we can unite and do something about this!
  271. OzarkGuru
I'm in. Will try to post about "Stop the Abuse of Vitriolic Language When Responding to Blog Posts"

Editing the syndicated Arkansas Republican Assemblies political blog leads to an occasional vitriolic unsavory comment with little substance. Unfortunately for the poster, their unwillingness to share their viewpoints in a context safe for children results in our use of the "delete key."

    dotventures.blogspot.com/2007/08/bloggers-unite-blog-against-abuse-on-9.htm...

    Quick question:

    1) How will the organizers determine legitimate participants? Who is to say which are actual important abuse issues?
  281. dirt
    Great idea. Count me in!
  282. TonyB
We would like to put together some videos about the event to put on youtube. Something cool, exciting that shares the message of the impact we can have when we unite together.

As an incentive.... if you create one and you will receive a 6 month upgraded membership on BlogCatalog.
  283. searchbliss
Sounds like a great idea. I'll mark it in my calander.

Never mind...I had a blond moment, but now it's over! I got the HTML code for the badge so it links back automatically.

I can devote a column to this for Web Savvy at The Writer--this is a great way to show the power of the blogosphere.

But I need quotes--hopefully from BC management and from bloggers who plan to participate. Example: Why are we doing this, what spurred us to do this, what do we hope to accomplish?

I can also pre-tease this at Creative Writer--my cause is Bloggers Against Abuse: Speak out against the use of rape as a political tool. A story in this month's National Geographic spurred me to write about this tactic.

Anyway, email me your remarks or leave them on this thread and I'll do up a nice column. My column is bi-weekly (I write for the print mag too, but I love doing my online column there).
    1. TonyB
kaybday - please email me at tony (at) blogcatalog.com and I'll answer any questions you have.

  298. badthing
Oh my - I am so excited by this concept you've thought of, you have no idea.

This is absolutely vitally, vitally important and I will do my part to spread the word.

Thank you ever so much for doing this.
  299. badthing
mrsnesbitt, I just saved a graphic design of yours and will be using it on my blog post about this cause. I want to say thank you for designing this and I absolutely loved your wonderful blog!
  300. TonyB
badthing... Im curious, what part of this cause do you see as being "vitally important"?

Seems important to share our thoughts and ideas about how bloggers as a group have the power to do a ton of good through our blogs...especially when we unite.

    What do you think?
  301. shuva
I am curious as I dont understand what will be the out come of this. I dont want to say that this looks like another example of abuse like --- "do this and I will give you that" or "join me for a cause blah blah". But I also see some sincerity to be frank, so count me in.
  302. TonyB
shuva - I have a strong belief that a large group of bloggers who unite can create positive change. However, it is somewhat difficult to pinpoint the exact benefits that will result as every blogger has unique readers who will be influenced in different ways. One of the more surprising and promising aspects of or last challenge, about Organ Donation, was after the challenge the number of articles in the main stream media increased by a large number. Abuse comes in so many forms though it seems like there are 4 or 5 major areas of abuse that most of us will be blogging about : animal abuse, political abuse, child abuse, spousal abuse and environmental abuse.
  303. donkeySOUP

Guys, this is history in the making, never has in the history of this country has an elder couple been more thoroughly abused , their civil rights ignored and violated , and a chain of victims has been made because of the in ability to resolve the crisis while it was still manageable
Neither has a case been so well documented before as it it being documented now!
Forward this to everyone you know, let them also be part of history, part of this sad chapter of man's in humanity to man.

Yep it's a great cause all right,

so, how will you know we've written the blog in order to tdo the link back thingy?

    What is the process?

Meanwhile, I shall blog about how we are all abusing our kids (all be-it unknowingly and without the power to do much about it) every day by poisoning them, it should go down a bomb..literally.

To get an idea of how it'll go see here:
    searchwarp.com/swa244121.htm
  335. CreativeBlogger
I've created a blog post about it already

I have just started writing an article about power abuse (well, it-s always poer abuse - in family, at work, to animals...) and just wanted to ask - what page shoud I link? This one or...?
  337. TonyB
No requirement to link to a blogcatalog page. If you link do it to this one.
    1. wooglah
Yes, but wouldn't it be better if blogcatalog had an dedicated page, with only some iconic graphics and "bloggers unite" message in all-world languages, and then 3-4 links, to current subject, to this page, and that stuff...

So that someone who see article at blog, and read it, can have some starting point for learning about "bloggers unite" couse, history and future actions at one place?

      Just asking...
  338. TonyB
    Wooglah,

We will be launching a separate section dedicated to Bloggers Unite Causes. So far the discussion threads have served as the place to find all information about each cause. The benefit of this discussion is new ideas such as yours are born.

It would be great if some members from around the world create Badges in languages other than English.

We were able to include just about everything Tony said about the Bloggers against Abuse day and also general info about Blog Catalog. Writer is writermag.com, but the article is premium content for subscribers only. I would like as many people as possible to contemplate writing on a particular aspect of abuse. It is an ugly one and its the most damaging: it leads to most other forms of abuse including in almost every case drug abuse and animal abuse.

I would like you all to contemplate writng about the sexual abuse, physical abuse and emotional abuse of children. These abuses lead to adults who are dehumanised and who are leading lives out of control.

In the western world child sexual abuse is a well oiled business machine and mostly practiced by groups of high status individuals: it is not a lone mans game. The taboo was lifted 20 years ago and this ssubject has gained ground but there is not enough research and not enough awareness and not enough campaigning.

Read my site for background, or use your google-fu to dig up some information: tell personal stories, with care, and we can start to take the covers off this horror. Our societies are still in deep denial even though we talk about this subject a little more openly than we did.

Somewhere between 20 -30 % of kids are sexually molested as children. In some studies it is being reported that 95% of drug addicts, 95% of the prison population and 95% of prostitutes are victims of this form of abuse.

Dehumanised people live unmanageable lives, abuse animals, abuse power, abuse our planet and abuse themselves.

The historical context to this, and most accurate information I have come accross in ten years of research can be found at www.perceptions.couk.com/devices.html and if you read around that site you will be shocked. The author is not paranoid or mad which may be your first thought - I am correspond with him and he is one of the sanest and most insightful people alive today. Youwill be shocked when reading it but bear in mind the scandals of the catholic church ... this information is the key to the insanity of our world andthe key to finding a sane way to live together in peace and in harmony with our home, planet earth.

    Matthew, The Irreeverent Buddhist

The power lays in the hands of the people - they lied and said we live in democracies - now their lies will bite them in the ass.

I just posted the wonderful white "blogging for a cause" badge to my blog from here: blog.blogcatalog.com/announcements/blogging-for-a-great-cause-badges

It looks amazing. Thank you! My new blog will come out on the 27th and it will be against stopping abuse, for sure. "What kind?" you ask. Well, it's extremely prevalent, insidious and potentially destructive. It's probably has been perpetuated by everyone here at some point in their lives. I plan to approach it humorously, but still hope to get people to think about stopping it, if they haven't already.

If you can't guess what it is, then I'll see you on the 27th when all will be revealed!
  359. TrilbyKat
*oops* I meant "It's probably been perpetuated..."

    technorati.com/wtf/blogcatalog/2007/09/18/bloggers-to-blog-against-abuse-1

    4. This is the most important step between now and Wednesday September 27th.

Think about the benefits that writing this type of post may have.

Who may benefit from you writing a post about Blogging for Hope to End Abuse (whatever abuse you choose)?

Could you save a child's life, an animal's life or perhaps start some sort of movement that changes the world?

With all of us blogging isnt it possible that somewhere, somehow, in all of our writings we create something far more important than any of us imagined when we sat and wrote a post about Blogging for Hope, Blogging to End Abuse?

What will it mean to your life to have written a post about this? How will it possibly benefit the people around you?

I ask and challenge each of you, in your post, to do more than just write a quick post that says "Today is Blogging for Hope Day where 1,000s of Bloggers Unite to Put an End to Abuse". Really think about this one. Think about the benefits that will come from Blogging for Hope.

I believe that when we think about the possible benefits and changes we can make in our own lives, those we love and the world around us, then we become inspired to truly come up posts that inspire change.

On Wednesday, let's Inspire Hope and Positive Change in our worlds through our blogs.

I appreciate your idea *LOTS*. it is what people need, I think: Enlightenment and explanation. Human Rights Watch calls for actions like this, too, in the name of human rights.

    Published!
    www.walkersblog.info/2007/09/bloggers-against-abuse-power-abuse.html

Its about power abuse in general, as couse of all abuse that follow - because you can not abuse someone/someting if you dont have power over them.
Then I mention abuse in family (wife, children), mobbing, animal abuse, and in conclusion i have written that those above are just top of the ice berg, and asked people do they notice all other forms of abuse - using children in marketing (in politics ie.) or minorities abuse, and that stuff...

This short version is here for you to see, because my blog is not in english

Damned right us flowers have posted, as promised as we yearn to see an end to all kinds of abuse but specifically, in our post we ask what is it that makes the victims of abuse protect their abusers identity?

Is it shame, love, fear or just ‘part of the dance of life’ that stops victims of domestic violence stopping the problem at the source? Do share your thoughts as this post makes it around the blogosphere……

Personally, I think BlogCatalog's Blogging for a Great Cause Challenge is a very innovative and noble idea. To support this wonderful initiative, I have blogged about putting an end to blog abuse. Using blog as a platform to promote child pornography, racial discrimination, violent and hatred is being socially irresponsible. We should refrain from blog abuse. I blogged this on seo-hub.blogspot.com/2007/09/seo-bloggers-against-blog-abuse.html

Wow! My family and I founded Ark of Hope For Children (www.arkforkids.org) so that we can bring homes, hope and real change to abused children that must live in foster care. We have 10 children, including 5 adopted from foster care. I/We are SO ENCOURAGED that this is happening.... so many empassioned people jumping in "the pool" to be counted and make a difference! Any help anyone can be to help us get our first home built for siblings that have been abused will be a wonderful blessing.

We will be joining in, and of course all of our blog posts on our three blogs (plus 9+ family blogs on Facebook and MySpace) and will notify here as they are posted. Thanks BlogCatalog and you rock blogosphere!

    Hi,

My post in the English blog is about the abuse and misuse of language. Please find it here.

    loscuadernosdejulia.blogspot.com/2007/09/bloggers-against-abuse-use-of-lang...

On my Russian blog (which is hosted at LiveJournal, and the BlogCatalog's code is on the profile page, not on the actual blog, which may be the reason why the blog has been disapproved) I wrote early this morning about the issue of literacy on the Russian internet, which is connected in a way to the English-language post. I have no idea how many Russian speakers there are at BC, but this is the post anyway (it doesn't contain the badge, though):
