Don't you hate those YOU WON $23509385 scams you get in emails? And then when you try to block their emails, it's ''undisclosed'' so you can't?

I'm sure most of you have gotten one of these emails before. I just got this today.

nursejendoll.com/?p=524

The last I had was years ago before this. When was yours?

Anyway whats new with the somali pirates?
  2. nusejendoll
99% of my email is not spam. It used to be 30% spam, but not anymore. They've died down, but then I get that. Got annoyed.
  3. Anok
Ugh my spam has increased severely lately.

But I've been getting the ebay "Are you dumb and poor?" emails.

    WTF is that?
    1. nusejendoll
Lol I haven't gotten that one yet, good thing.
  4. thingys
    You mean I didn't win?
    1. Anok
No, but boy do I have a great deal on a bridge for you!
    2. Friday13
      Sorry, thingys. Try next year.
  5. SailboaterRob

"Good day,, Wives from Russia waiting you."
    1. LynneaUrania
Just remember that hot sexy young Katya will very likely turn into a Slavic blob after she has her child. I saw it so often over there.
  6. NewBlogger2008
I get the free cable for life through your computer ones. And I even get ones for free elctricity. Really, free power, spammers can do better than that.
    1. nusejendoll
I found out that only Ambit Energy spam is actually legit when it comes to free electricity/energy but it comes with a catch that's not so bad: You have to refer ten people and then you get free gas/energy www.helloambit.com/ it's like one of those referral network things. I signed up. They really *do* give you that free trip two after four months of being in it lol I had mine already.

I guess in this economy, the emails I get stating "I found you a job!" are golden...
  8. Bayho
I get these annoying emails everyday! The ones that say, I inherited some large some of money, I just need to send them all my information first. I'm not exactly sure how I got them? I've tried replying back once, and asked them to stopped sending these emails. Ofcourse it didn't work. I wonder if people actually fall for these emails and send their information? I also wonder what happens once you send them your information? Anyone know or willing to admit?
    1. nusejendoll
I've seen these on prime-time tv. The cops actually did a set up with them, put them to jail for fraud.

      Don't be a victim. lol
  9. Oahupet
I get those for several countries and the ones that say they will help you scam inheritance by making you the beneficiary of millions for a fee.
  10. timmcdoniel
I sometimes really wonder what the IQ level is of those people that fall for it. Someone must be falling for it, why else would they do it. I figure that the people falling for it must be the ones that forward me the chain emails about some virus destroying everything on my hard drive.
  11. HorsePucky
Those million dollar scams appear in my inbox almost every day. I was reading a story in the Reader's Digest where someone actually fell for the scam and lost $20k. Good grief!
    1. riverstyxxx
That's nothing, this old lady lost 400,000 and she fucking deserved it:

      consumerist.com/5087211/woman-loses-400000-to-nigerian-email-scam
  12. riverstyxxx
I actually don't feel bad for the victims of the nigerian scammers. It's all over tv, everyone on message boards talks about it and even most email providers warn you about it, and people still continue to fall for it. There was one lady who recently reported losing half a million dollars, I'd dig up the link but you've probably seen it already.

Anyway, the second reason I don't feel a shred of sympathy is because it takes a certain amount of greed to play into their scam. They make vague, broken-english promises of scoring millions of dollars in exchange for a few thousand dollars...Then they string em along, pumping em for more money by way of more excuses and more fees. And that takes a fair amount of greed from the "victim" to fall for it. Come on, millions of dollars just for forking over a few grand? Who the hell would be so stupid besides greedy people?
    1. nusejendoll
Some of them use a 'sympathy technique' like helping out some girl, orphans, blah blah blah. Those emails target the rich old people, and the really dumb ones.
  13. kirewass
I see these stupid so-called Nigerian Scam emails every day. I don’t open or preview spam e-mails at all! They come from scammers from just about any country.
  14. drjay1966
    Scams???!!!

Are you telling me people in Africa aren't talking about what an astute and trustworthy businessman I am?
  15. thesecretdiary
    scam is everywhere.
  16. freudpsyche
ya I too got this kind of mails. I gave a reply to them like " keep the half amount with you and send the rest to me".lol

Just two months back on january 20th I got SMS to my mobile saying that " you are a winner prize $2500 in cash , call now +447559057571 to claim" how can i win this with out doing anything.

Think so they are targeting even mobiles. Because of spammers it has become difficult to recognize the true and false one.
  17. divindia
There are many kinds of spam besides the Nigeria one. One offers employment in Luxury Hotels with very attractive terms. But you have to send cash for Visa. Another one comes from girls who claim their parents hold senior positions in their respective Governments. She also says that for example she is the secretary of some International Youth Movement. She offers you free all expenses paid trip to exotic destinations. But you must take a membership for a cool $.000. Then there is the lottery which again needs sending money to a fiduciary agent. Then there are bank executives offering to transfer millions from dead accounts. Then there are easy money spam mail. Beware of all these.
  18. marktmarket
The frequency of these spam on my email about lotteries, dormant money in Nigeria, some African royal who wants to get her inheritance, etc. etc. seems to have increased since I started blogging.
  19. bladeaxe4
Oops ! sorry that might be my Nigerian cousin who might have sent it to you ! lol, jk
  20. OneMuslim
WOW the $49574309853 lum sum value is hard to remember LOL...
  21. busylizzy
I am so tired of winning money from people who can't spell worth beans and want my personal information.

I have also grown weary of offers to make my p***s larger. No thank you!
    1. busylizzy
I have hotmail and mark the scams as "phishing" but I wonder if MSN really does anything about it. They could at least block incoming emails from those addresses. Saving up and build a case for a criminal investigation would be awesome.
  22. nusejendoll
I think they -try- to, but there's just too many of them..
  23. diditdof
I got it a week ago. Thank you.
  24. anthony9910
I mark them as phishing emails, and I block them normally 4 to 6 emails like that.
  25. LolitaV
thank gawd no one says african scams but nigerian!!!!
    1. mandekira
      Is Nigeria not Africa?
    2. Friday13
Yes, but it's nice to be more specific.
    3. mandekira
      Generality is also good.
    4. Friday13
I know, but if the top post said "Oh, I hate those Earth scams!" you'd see more replies in agreement than necessary.
    5. mandekira
Any how, there is nothing we can do than to take the blame, gosh....
    6. Friday13
The term just points at the (most common?) place of origin. It doesn't imply that everyone in Nigeria does that
    7. mandekira
But we can not escape from that impression, not everyone will understand like you do.
  26. crazyTsu
I always wonder "what are they thinking sending this?"
  27. rosebelle
Oh gosh, my coworker's son actually fell for one of those scams...the ones where they mail the check to you. I think the counterfeit check was $10,000. To make a long story short, he withdrew the money as soon as the hold on his account was off, the bank debited his account for the counterfeit check which overdrew his account by $10,000. Last I heard the police got involved. These are really horrible scams preying on the victims in this bad economy.
  28. mandekira
It really hurts me as I read through all the post here But the reality of the matter is that scam is every where but the Nigerian one is really the most popular. Nigerians youth tend to be talented in that kind of scam, how can somebody who is to give you 6 to 7 figure $s ask you for any amount before you claim it? I think reasonable someone will not accept such.
However Nigerian Government is trying it best to prevent such issue but to no avail, i think the failure is because of lack of adequate IT knowledge. Any way the Government is also .....! I did not say anything
I once had a blog awareness on this Nigerian scam issue, and when the got to find out, it was reported by them several times and the blog was blocked several time and i have to give up to it.
To me all I do to make my little cash online is Google Adsense in my blog then some little ads also, that $0.01 that i got is better for than that hundred of thousand $s I will get from scam.
I am a Nigerian and i can not deny being a Nigerian despite the situation on ground. I condole those who lost there cash as a result of this scam. Please do not be a victim again.
My Big KUDOS to NUSEJENDOLL for this wonderful topic! Once again Thank you.
  29. benmaxime
    I cant take those!!!
    1. mandekira
      Can take what?
  30. surveygirl46
i got 3 of those in one week and that was the week i was looking for a new place to live and put in ad on craigslist. Well a scammer tried to rent me someone elses house (we knew because after sending the photos my boyfriend _ a carpenter - recognized a dishwasher in one of thephotos as being from the UK LOL) so i crafted a long letter to my bank scammer and attached his email to me to it; then i sent my reply ltter to each of the other scammers, including the house scammer and in my email I expressed that i felt "they could help each other out more than i could" i recommended to the bank scammer that he contact the house scammer for place to live when he got his money out of africa. then i blogged about it on my humor blog....they're still sending me emails (the same ones LOL) i doubt they even read my email back as it was lacking a bank account number
    1. mandekira
Give thanks to your boy friend for figuring out this for, you for fall victim of such. Great lesson to learn.
  31. acousticguitarist
