My blog is a series of snapshots of a person who has had a fairly interesting life. In my lifetime, I have been an actor, musician (played in a punk band), worked as an exotic dancer and high-priced call girl, as well as started the world's first fantasy phone call service (Julie's hotline--and this was back before there were 900 #'s).
I became addicted to heroin along the way and spent about 12 years in the abyss of addiction. I went into recovery in the mid-90's and became an honors college student, fully funded doctoral student and award-winning college professor. I am writing a book about my life experiences (which people have been telling me I should do for a long time).
My blog is about the journey I have been on throughout my life and the process of now telling my story to the world. Although my story is about my own problems with addiction, my purpose in writing the book is to promote the need for free and available treatment for all suffering addicts so that others can have what I was so lucky to be given: a second chance at life.

I'm not sure why this kind of thing appears so insulting and people who respond don't even realize it.-
I don't find that insulting--and I gave given what you wrote some thought. Isn't what the OP is stating true for anyone who reads and supports any blog? All of us, as writers, have to convince readers that we have something of value that should be subscribed to (of course, that is only true if you want people to read what you write--and I do).

there's a squillion ways of saying the same same thing. there's nothing disrespectful here. If I don't write something, I'll end up with 500 links to make money now blog or blogs covered in ads. This way I can easily identify what i might like and maybe have an idea of what i'm in for

Today I found a dead field mouse on my sidewalk. It looked so small and sad. Then I found a cross between a bumble bee and a large wasp, with elongated body and wings. I do not know from whence it came. Since it was almost dead, I had to help it along. I didn't want to see it be in pain.
One time, a seagull fell dead, right out of the night sky, and landed in front of our home. All of the animals and birds tend to find us. Like our house is Noah's Ark. -

I just added a Table of Contents that is a sidebar toggle to show/hide a list of all of my posts (with date & labels). The TOC uncloaks at the top of the post column. Visitor can sort by date ascending or descending, or by title. Clicking a tag shows only posts with that tag. - it's a hack originated at Beautiful Beta, and found at thirdworldchaos.blogspot (with a server name error which I noted in comments field) Fantastic! Worth another visit! LOL

It's perfectly fine to change the header. In wordpress they give you so many choices and some of those choices have different color wheels or straight up colors to choose from. This way it helps your web log have a fresh look and because I have a very changeable nature as far as what I am viewing, it really appeals to me. I know. long answer.

I love the sound of the music from there. A guitarist called Davey Graham was very influenced by Morocco in the sixties and he invented a new guitar tuning. That tuning is my favourite and the tuning of many fantastastic guitar players. In fact Jimmy Page from Zeppelin used it on Led Zep 3. Thank you Morocco
