I got Sgt. Pepper last week and have been playing it all the time here. I love it. It is the most amazing album I have ever listened to. I have it on my blog must-hear-60s-songs.blogspot.com
What does everyone think of it that owns this album? Can any of their other albums top this? I only own two Beatles albums so far. The rest I will buy this year.

I like the White Album the best. Read the book Helter Skelter for a taste of how it twisted Charles Manson and his gang. A scary trip indeed.

I have to agree that Sgt. Pepper was my favourite. The White Album is good, too...love Rocky Raccoon, Obla-di obla da, Happiness is a warm gun, Julia...a really good showcasing of their various talents and quirks.
Abbey Road is another really good one, and for early efforts, Rubber Soul is terrific! -
Best Car Album: RedAlbum (1962-1967)
Best Musically Written Album: Let It Be
My Favorite Album with most hits: White Album
Least Favorite Album with least hits: Revolver

Thanks everyone. My Christmas list will be full here this year with music. I can't imagine any album topping Sgt. Pepper, but I have not heard their other albums so I will find out I guess soon.
I have not seen anyone mention "1". That album has 27 of their hit 60s songs. I rank it just below Sgt. Pepper. -
Hey someone pick Sgt. Pepper! HA~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pepper is ranked #1 on many music list I think. Here is some good info on the album.

At the risk of getting a lot of scorn heaped on my head, I think the Beatles had lots of great songs, but it's rare that I listen to any of their albums all the way through without skipping at least a song or two. This is particularly the case with the later ones, which tend to contain my favorite songs, but the members of the band were going in such radically different directions musically that their songs really don't fit well together.

Really? The Beatles "1" album also? That has 27 songs on it. All are gems. They are one of only groups where I like most every song.

Yeah, I really don't like a lot of McCartney songs after 1966--he just got too poppy for my taste (though he still had quite a few gems, like "Hey Jude" and "The Long and Winding Road"), and pretty much could do without anything sung by Ringo...but, that's just me.
I didn't get the "1" album, since I have all the songs on other albums.
