My Alexa Rank is 466,789 and my target traffic rank is better than 100,000 -
LOL - jims I know how you feel, but, you can take comfort in the fact that if you actively try to increase it you can.
I installed the toolbar and the widget on March 7th.
Here is the breakdown thus far:
Week 1 - March 07, 2008 -660,166 (starting point)
Week 2 - March 14, 2008 -588,229
Week 2 - March 16, 2008 - 593,064 (what happened here I don't know)
My traffic for the week increased, yet my Alexa traffic went up and then down. I am publishing a weekly update on my site every Saturday to document the progress.-
You have to understand that Alexa is not an accurate representation of your blog traffic. I've experienced it myself. My traffic went up but my Alexa went down. This happens when the traffic driven to your blog is from non-bloggers or non-webmasters. You should target bloggers/SEOs or webmasters if you want to improve your Alexa traffic rank. Entrecard is a great place to get traffic to your blog from bloggers/webmasters.

I was shocked one time tho about a Year ago + somebody told me my Blog had a PR 5 which i had never checked either!! -
My Space of Reality Blog is at 366,000 something but I want to make it less that 100,000 -
That should be possible if you exert extra effort. Entrecard and StumbleUpon are great sources of traffic that can help you boost your Alexa. Most of the users have Alexa toolbar installed on their browsers.

My one business website got all the way to under 21,000 in Alexa and then wham! it started sliding and sliding (and all the time my traffic was going UP according to my cpanel stats), until now it hovers out in the 350-400K somewhere. I've seen sites Alexa ranks high that are out in google in the 6 millionth spot LOL! - completely contrary to what you'd think. Our blog is new, and I have no clue if Alexa recognizes us or not, but they drive me crazy so I don't sweat them any more... -

My first month of blogging was totally absurd I can't even define my purpose. I just had it as a hobby No one is tutoring me, then I bumped on your rich blog and came the other, and sooner I was gaining a lift.
From the rank of 7M+ it's up to 1,564,333. I'm satisfied with it. It's a christian blog, I rather want my visitor to enjoy my blog than merely surfing.
I just set-up my second blog which I intend for earning, this is probably where I have to flex all my experiences in increasing the traffic and rank. So far it stands on the 3M+ rank. -

Last week I cracked 50k, I'm now at 49,066. This is mostly due to working EntreCard. The blog is 5mths old and I was using Search Status (FF addon) to track it, about a month ago I installed Sparky.-
Congrats. I hope to crack the top 50k next month. Wish me luck.

My Alexa rank started with a hefty 8M+ nearly three months ago. Now it's gone down to 1.5M. Darn, it must be inflation or something. If it were money in the bank, soon I'd be dirt poor. hahaha -
