Justice for Dogs: The Four Paws Boycott'

In case you haven't heard about the Four Paws boycott, the facts are these:

Four Paws, just this morning, recalled their Pimple Ball with bell because a manufacturing defect had led to terribly injured dogs.

While they had been informed of several dogs' injuries, and had vet documentation, it took a boycott declared in the past several weeks to bring them to recall the defective product.

Just recently a new piece of information has come to light.

A dog had died from this same defective toy.

Three years earlier.

And they did nothing.

I was on a pet forum a couple of weeks ago and mentioned that I have a fat cat who has been on diet food since last November! A longtime cat lover immediately spoke up and told me that she bet I'm feeding dry food (I was) and that cats should not eat all those carbs that dry food has. Instead I should get high-quality canned food. I did some looking around in Google and found some vets who agree but it seems like there's not any certain recommendation. What do you feed your kitties?

I just wanted to share my cat Lionel with you all. He is a 6 year old Himalayan mixed cat. A received him from a co-worker when he was a kitten. He is a great companion and a real farm cat. He loves indoors and outdoors.

He's fitting in pretty well. The only time we have to get out the canned air is when he harassed the older of the two cats, who doesn't have the social presence to stop him. But he is making friend with the other cat, who was the one we were thinking would like a companion.

How many people want to get another cat, but aren't sure the new one will fit in?

Well, dang, I look in the Groups, and there isn't one for cats. Another example of cat underestimation, if you ask me.

Cats are now the most popular pet in many countries, yet they still get no respect.

No one wrinkles up their face when we say we have a dog. Yet, I'll tell people I have (horrors!) not just a cat, but CATS, and half of them look on me pityingly, as though I've confessed to a social disease.

Why is that?
