  1. Has everyone joined Twitter? If you aren't already a member then you might find it useful to join. Don't forget to link your blog posts to it. I will post the details of how to do this here. In the meantime - to get more readership you will need to spend just a few seconds as follows. It is useful to use the main stream of readers and followers at least once or twice each week if you can. If you are more energetic then once a day is really useful.

Firstly - find a post that you particularly like - it can be recent or one that you have posted one or more years ago. Click onto it and get the link - then go to your right-hand side of the dashboard of Twitter where it says 'Everyone' ... this takes you to the world - there are reportedly several million users so there will always be thousands online in this column. Go to the top of the screen where it says 'What are you doing' - to attract attention so that you get people to click onto your link you need to provide them with a hook before pasting in the link. The hook is either a word or group of words to attract attention. It needn't be related to the post. For example you can use "Stop Press" - "Stampede" - "Red rag to a bull" ... the reason being each Tweet is competing with thousands of others. You will find three groups of people - one simply want to add new friends to their Twitter boards, two are ardent 'Tweeters' they are Tweeting all day long and need to keep finding information to Tweet about - they use other peoples Tweets to do Re-Tweets with - in other words they copy and past other people's Tweets (messages) these are very useful as they might re-tweet your link several times. Three - are those who like to find new articles to read and look for blogs. They might only visit your Blog once but if they like it they will keep coming back.

If you only use the main page of the dash then your Tweets (messages) will only be shown to people who have linked to your page in friendship and they most probably already visit your blogs.
  2. NEWS ........ Calling all members ..... There is now a search engine that offers RSS feeds to blogs. It shows what your blog is about - a few words from the author (yourself), a full post and a link to your blog.

It is referred to as 'a long tail search engine' ..... add blogs at the following link:

    www.feedmil.com/addfeed.jsp

Spread your blog names far and wide ... this one is a free registration.

    Cheers, Polly
