  1. Hi, great to see a group like this! I've recently started a blog which is mainly my place to talk about anything I feel like rambling about. I'm very interested in equal rights & feminism, so my blog is mainly about that! I have a lot of links to important websites & generally try to make people more aware of issues. It also sort of chronicles how I'm slowly becoming a bit of an activist, taking part in discussion groups & a Women's Campaign at my University
    1. I agree, it's great to find a group like this. My blog is called Black Gay Gossip and the goal is to create visibility in the Black LBGT community while at the same time entertaining the readers.

And no, you don't have to be Black to be a BGG reader.

      We welcome all.

      Enjoy
    2. www.popmaxnow.com

it's an entertainment and news blog for the asian lgbtq community
  2. That's great
  3. Hi, I'm LindaBeth. I started a blog a few months ago called "don't ya wish your girlfriend was smart like me"- smart-like-me.blogspot.com - it's a cultural studies/theory blog about gender and sexuality in pop culture and media. I come from a "post-structuralist feminist" critical perspective.

I try to make it very accessible. I'm a Master's student in Theory and Criticism at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON Canada, planning to begin a PhD in a year. I started this blog as a way to dialogue with other people interested in talking about how gender and sexuality ground our subjectivity, and how culture both reflects and impacts our sense of self. I'm also really interested in how assumptions about gender and sexuality are normalized through every-day culture. Sounds very academic, but I try to make my writing be less so.

I also find myself finding young women who don't identify with feminism or really understand all of what it is about, so part of my interest is to provide and solicit critical analyses of what we take for granted in our culture but that actually perpetuates sexism and heterosexism.

I usually am writing about current events, but I also will write on ideas I'm toying with that I want to discuss.

Check it out and weigh in!

I also started a group here Gender and Sexuality, if anyone specifically writes on that. Cheers!
  4. I'm a syndicalist and I believe in liberty, equality and brotherhood. I hate racism with a passion.

  5. Hello. I believe that peace is inevitable, and that it is the responsibility of each world citizen to work towards that destination.

On my blog, I pay tribute to those who help to move us forward. My hope is that such praise and recognition of the progressive and innovative will become more common in our world, and the inspiration will spread.

Thanks for starting an awesome group.

  7. Hi, I'm The Hostess for The Outskirts.

    thehostess.wordpress.com/

I grew up a WASPy Girl Scout in Dallas. Now I’m a lesbian Buddhist in Narberth Pennsylvania. The in-between part…well, that makes for entries into the blog, dinner conversation, my sarcasm, and hopefully some direction in life.

    Thanks,
    The Hostess
  8. The purpose of my blog is to share Knowledge. It’s a captivating and sensitive mix of personal insights and international events.

  9. My blog is about the rights of children and reforming the foster care system and adoption industry to honor the rights of the child. I expose many hidden truths in adoption, and foster care where children are treated far lower than equal and my fight is one which restores their equality!

  11. The slogan of my blog www.FascistMedia.com is, "Provocative and Instulting." It is about 1)exposing or promoting news suppressed by the corporate media 2) dissing the mainstream media since it has done a huge amount of damage to society, and 3) promoting blogs that offer fact-based reports, intellectual honesty, and unabashed liberalism. Why should a word that means "free" be dirty? It is only under repressive influences and pervasive fascist propaganda that it could become that way.

As for what I cover on my blog, I'm just getting started, but recently it has been calling Associated Press on their lie that voting machines worked well on election day.
  12. Hello,
My blog is called Asexual Explorations. www.asexystuff.blogspot.com As the name suggests, I blog about asexuality. As an asexual person, I identify as queer because, while I'm not L, G, B or T, heterosexuality is utterly foreign to my own experience. As a group, asexuals aren't overly oppressed the way LGBT people are. Rather, we are given the message that we don't exist. This can be a very isolating message and it has, until recently, prevented asexuals from connecting with each other. Now that we have, there are a lot of issues to try to think through surrounding asexuality, and the purpose of my blog is to try to think through some of these.
  13. I am a member of the glbt community and I have a political blog that focuses on human rights issues. I am excited to be a member of your group. www.northernvox.com
  14. You can see my blog at blog.lifecoaching-egs.com. I'm a Life Balance Coach and my blog is about ideas of how to center, improve and create a more authentic, fulfilling and balanced life. Looking forward to your comments and ideas. Drop me a note if you have any questions. Let me know if I can of any support to you on your journey. I'm here to create a space for you to focus, clear your thoughts and build the life you are ready to live. Looking forward to our connection. Much peace!
  15. My blog is alittlepieceofpaper.blogspot.com. I blog about the Dream Act, immigration, civil rights, politics, and how they affect my life. I started blogging to fight ignorance about the US immigration system and its connection to inequality around the world. Many are just misinformed or have had their ears drowned in hateful comments when the issue is brought up.

Check it out if you are into social justice and have an activist streak in you.
  16. My blog is Frogger11758.wordpress.com.

I'm autistic (and incidentally gay), but I blog about the neurodiversity movement (which argues that autism is not a disability to be eradicated but a neurological difference to be celebrated), and life as an autistic teen.
  17. All I can offer is a very wide range of experiences and deeply focused opinions. So far in this life I have Graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a BS in Behavioral Science, taught at the Academy, coached Division 1 Track for both USAF Academy and the University of Lousiville, worked as a consultant for an international consulting firm, started and owned my own businesses, given up organized religion and come out as a gay multi-ethnic man. I'm no expert on anything, I just believe in the power of the divine in all of us us to continue to evolve past our differences and realize that you and I are one.

  18. I started my blog so that my brain wouldn't atrophe being home with children 24/7. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I try to entertain, but I think I entertain myself the most. That being said, I seem to be attracting more and more readers who want to read about...gays, jews, parenting and suburban stay-at-home-mothers who sometimes use dirty words and make people blush.

  19. My blog is about racism, sexism, and heterosexism in video games. It isn't anti-video game but talks about these issues in the gaming industry - we do reviews, articles, and feminist critiques. We also talk about related nerd stuff as well. We hope to, eventually, raise enough stink to be in a position to make a difference by sending out company report card things, boycotts, etc.

We also have a discussion board we just started:

  20. My blog www.likeawhisper.wordpress.com is transitioning to a new site but in its previous incarnation we helped start a boycott in support of immigrant workers in California's wine country after the death of a pregnant teen worker who was denied water or shade, we raised awareness about racially unequal publishing behavior and helped foster a conversation about what it means to be multicultural feminists who support each other, we fostered intense discussion about xenophobia in summer blockbusters, and started a blogswarm on rape in the Congo (recognized by HBO and the Greatest Silence Documentary web page, even tho many bloggers credit it to someone who read about it on our blog first and did not link back), and we raised awareness about several rape cases and kidnap cases especially around differently-abled women. The blog was also quoted and used for posters in the recent prop 8 rallies in CA. So we do a lot. And every reader counts. Right now (January 2009) we are trying to raise awareness about a differentlt-abled woman on a hunger strike for better health care who may die before she gets it. If you could stop by and read the post and spread the word, that would be extremely helpful!

  22. Hi. My blog is www.inlookout.com. I like to focus on LGBT and political issues, often as it relates to marriage equality and human rights, but not exclusively. I also sometimes veer into religion, science and entertainment, but almost always from a progressive point of view. Hope you'll check it out. Thanks.
    1. I like your blog and like you want to focus on LGBT issues, but not exclusively. I signed on as a follower too. I see our blogroll has some of the same. Hey, if you like my blog, please be a follower. Thanks! John

  23. Hello- Love the idea of and the contributions to blogging for equality. My blog is jenniferchandler.com/ and the title is Esteem Rising. My intent initially was to provide a platform to analyze life from a woman's perspective, inspire and be inspired. It is evolving further into directing women to various issues, and informing readers about women and organizations that are influencing our world in large and small ways.

It started as result of my work in crisis intervention and career counseling. After many years of working with individuals in both the private sector and government programs I realized I could give plenty of the prescribed advice but what my clients needed was to build their self esteem, be respected for their beliefs and values and find a place that would honor that. Speaking about issues they cared about, brought out that sense of self and purpose, volunteering built up their self esteem, passion was the key to success. It is my hope women will become even better informed about issues, I will be directing them to sites, providing encouragement for their involvement and interviewing women who are already making a difference. So stay tuned and thanks for the opportunity to share with this group.
  24. My blog is about finding spirituality in the purpose of life. mediumbykuma.blogspot.com/
  25. My blog is on Asian LGBTQ pop culture. It's still a bit new so I'm always looking for something to write about. The language barrier has been kind of hard on me. Would appreciate other Asian LGBTQs helping me out see you there! www.popmaxnow.com
  26. My blog was supposed to focus on technology, but after a couple of days I strayed off topic and began writing about politics instead. In real life, you can talk tech with anyone, but politics tends to be a more delicate matter that people get upset about. So I put my political opinions, which can seldom be discussed elsewhere, in my blog.

I began the blog because I had been reading more about blogging in various magazines and decided to give it a try. It's actually fun to do and a great way to let off steam about whatever annoys you in the world, be it inequality, injustice, war, or right-wing pundits.

I doubt my political opinions help my readers unless they are liberal, in which case they will be nodding their heads thinking, "Dam ri!" However, I wrote several entries on technical subjects and that probably does help my readers in a practical sense. In addition to that, I offer numerous tips for the roguelike game, Dungeon Crawl, which does bring a trickle of traffic. Anyone who profits from my technical advice will also be exposed to my left-wing political agenda, so in that sense, I don't mind offering my tech advice for free to the world.
  27. My blog is personal. It includes my life stories and lesson. It also includes my interests and what I learn. In other words its a blog about anything and everything. I'm really proud of it and i would love for anybody to visit and tell me what you think.

I also blog about tv, music, politics, and personal things. I would love to have some more followers and follow any blogger that follows mine. Thanks. John

It would mean a great deal to me to get some feedback, opinions, suggestions, and/or members. P.S. I am trying to focus my efforts on the equal marriage movement in New England(I am from the great state of Massachusetts after all:) Thank you in advance for any and all support! -Steve

  33. My blog is about Swine Flu, O.K. maybe it isn't, but if it was about Swine Flu, it would keep you up to date on the latest news, updates and a referance library on the disease that would only cost you $19.99 to access.

  38. Hi all,

We are 2 twentysomething ladies from NYC who just started up a new blog called Girl Hate. It's about the negative portrayal of young girls and women in society today.

We take a skeptical, witty, and intelligent look at the media and pop culture's treatment of girls—and of course, our own Mean Girls mentality towards one another.

    Check us out at: girlhate.com
