Well folks, we've had a few spammers lately who were just trying to make the usual ineffectual links which is not what our group is about. However, it did leave me thinking that we should have a thread where members can leave a link to any book review they've written; so not only does a member have a legtimate way of bringing people to their blog but hopefully we will all benefit from reading some useful reviews.
So that's the idea!
HOWEVER, in order that people don't waste their time on unsuitable links please include (and it may seem obvious) the title, the author, the year of publication and the genre.
So this should be a thread that should run and run!
And please don't forget you can always check out book reviews and author interviews over at The View From Here magazine.

Me first! What You Should Know About Politics But Don't by Jessamyn Conrad is a non-fiction title about, you guessed it, politics. It was published in 2008, but is already, deservedly, going to the remainder tables.
My review is at:

Stat Spotting A Field Guide To Spotting Dubious Data, non-fiction by Joel Best. The category is statistics, but as I make clear in my short review, this is a short, easy to read book that would be genuinely helpful to any blogger who uses statistics in their posts or anyone who confronts such statistics in their reading.

The Phoenix by Ruth Sims (Writers Collective, 2004) 343 pages ISBN: 1932133402
This is one story you don’t want to miss. It had me crying before I got past chapter two and laughing halfway through chapter eight. The book is a marvel of passionate difficulties without ever feeling like an emotional roller-coaster.

Hi folks - thought I'd say hi! I've just joined, am an author (fiction), and have a book review blog - trying to write columns inspired by books rather than just straight reviews. Have been going for a few weeks and been invited to review for major paper so would love to read your comments. Here's one about the architecture of going on holiday.

It's a few weeks old, but I reviewed "House of Thieves" by Kaui Hart Hemmings (Penguin Press, 2005) which is a collection of fictional short stories--most set among the more affluent class in Hawai'i. I picked this one to share because her latest novel, "The Descendants" has been optioned into a movie by Fox Searchlight--so you may be hearing more about her in the coming year or so.

Hello Alberto,
Welcome to the Book Readers Group:)
This particular thread is one for book reviews only. You are very welcome to put a link to any reviews you have done here.
We don't have a thread for linking to member's actual fiction at present but perhaps I shall put one in place very shortly whereby people can leave their links (as is done here) and then it will be up to the individual to follow up if they're interested. Thanks for the idea:)
