Today's pre-launch meeting was another productive one in which the attendee's discussed and finalized the course of action for the launch of www.chandigarhbloggers.com on 08-08-08.

But we were quite disappointed with the kind of response we are getting from the founder members in terms of dedication and contribution. This is a serious issue that needs to be responsibly addressed before it affects the development of CBA as a zonal community.

Gaurav is back in Warrangal at his college and Preeti informed about her helplessness in being present - valid ! But the rest should have at least cared to inform about their inability to attend the meet.

The basic problem (and this might be something wrong with us!)is that we are expecting everyone to put in their share of effort. But we don't get it at the moment we think it should be presented.

THE PLAN ::
That apart, it has been decided that the website will be launched by Vice Chancellor, Punjab University (of course, if in town) or otherwise by ourselves in the Student Center, PU Campus on the pre-decided date. The event is going to be covered by journalists and reporters from various news agencies (Many thanks to Ravi ji, our Key Adviser and Media Expert.)

BEING READY FOR THE EVENT ::
Before we go out and kick ass, we need to be ready with the content for the website. The founders page is ready and will be set up soon, and the forums administration control has been revoked. As the plan wasn't submitted within the dead line, We'll be setting up the forums with our backup plan that we'd formulated in the prime.

Chandigarh Bloggers Alliance demands a little effort from your side. We won't be troubling you with writing tasks, but we'd really appreciate if you submit two or three of your best works for the Community Blog. Of course, you can write something afresh if you wish to.. but all we NEED right now is the content that is already there with you.

All you got to do is submit the links to your best articles - we'll be publishing them without any modifications and FULL CREDIT to you. We'll link back to the original article.

The dead line for submission of links is TOMORROW EVENING by 4 PM. Thereafter, this thread will be closed for any more submissions.

Minutes of Meeting - Indian Coffee House (July 20th, 2008)'

Attendance:
Shanker Bakshi

Agenda:
* Order and Arrangement of Web-pages
* Interface optimization
* Finalizing roles best suited to each member
* Deciding the date, means and methods of launch
* Guidance from Ravi for managing the alliance from his experience of being associated with similar organizations.

Minutes of Meeting:
The so important things discussed and considered in today's meeting are:
1. There will be a Hindi version of the website along with the primary English version. We unanimously decided that Ravi will think of the Hindi punch line for us.

2. Mohit will be revamping the cartoon - to denote the youth. That necessarily means that the old guy will be replaced with a cool dude on his laptop or something on similar lines.

3. Interactive content would be of prime importance on the website - I am going to do the content writing with Reet's assistance, so the rest three seeded this idea well in my mind. Audio Visual aids will be incorporated.

4. Ravi told us how he could help us to promote the website and the alliance in PU hostels and other channels like in MCM DAV through known persons placed there or through seminars and workshops.

5. We decided how we would write the Disclosure and Privacy Policy, Comments Policy and finally Terms and Conditions of Usage and Sharing. Creative Commons and GPL licenses would be secured.

6. One idea that came out of nothing in between the meeting (Thanks, Ravi) is to launch the website on the special date of 08/08/08. Now, that requires us to set up everything fast and good - so that we call all of you in, on 3rd August - that is a Sunday and finalize everything that would be important. We'll update you with more details.

7. Mohit and I will do the iCard design soon. Ravi will also try to make a poem specially for the launch occasion.

8. We decided to make Saurabh - the administrator of the forums. Saurabh, we invite your plan for the same. Tell us how you'll organize and order the sections. Saurabh will also look for bloggers from our region at Indiblogger and other communities and help bring them in.

9. Social Issues will be touched right from 15th August onwards. We also thought about adding a feature that allows anyone to submit photos or reports highlighting social issues - so that we can expose and invite remedial action from the regional administration.

10. This one is the most important. We discussed why a management is very necessary for C.B.A right from this initial stage. We have a great brain managing us already in the form of Shanker Bakshi, and if we get to do things in our own fashion - we'd have already freaked out and dropped.

All the people who were present on the first day have an equal contribution in the creation of this Alliance. Had there been one less, we wouldn't be here. You'll have to agree.

Again - you all know your roles. But someone needs to co-ordinate between them all, prevent a curry and specify who's doing what. This is only what we talked about.

Since the last 4 hours we are working on coming up with designations- all of us at one equal level. We'll update you as soon as possible because we haven't really officiated anything yet. Today's was just a personal review kind of thing.

Moving on from the nomenclature towards more serious business, we formulated a final structure of the website - which goes as follows:

Events Calendar

Further more, what these pages will contain has also been drafted and here's some detail about it as well:

Introduction : The introduction page will be the home to the website that will tell the visitors about Chandigarh Bloggers Alliance- What it is? Who are the people behind it? What is the purpose of the community website? ... are the few questions that will be answered by this page/section of the website.

Link Directory : This is going to serve as the first bonus to anyone registering at Chandigarh Bloggers dot Com. Well, growing by helping bloggers to grow is what Chandigarh Bloggers Alliance intends to do.

The link directory will be manually moderated to keep it spam free, and will require reciprocal linking to help spreading the word about the community.

Community Blog : Initially the founding members will contribute to the community blog by writing insightful articles related to blogging, SEO, marketing, technology, free resources on the internet and similarly about a wide variety of topics, according to their interest and knowledge of the subject.

This blog will also be open for registered members willing to share their articles with a large audience so as to get exposure for themselves and their blogs, to generate traffic and as a result some revenue.

Discussion Forums : These will have various sections where members can ask questions or answer the questions asked by others. So, discussion forums are going to be quite a resource for anyone.

Events Calendar and Gallery : These sections, as the name clears it, will carry information, photos and videos etc. related to the scheduled events, and those that might have already taken place.

Contact : This page will provide the visitors with contact information of the management - this will include links to the websites, and designation of the member in the community.

Besides these, there have been a lot of other features that have been taken into consideration and rolled out one after the another once we take off.

All that we discussed and derived from the chat conference, we feel, is just a base work that will take a better shape only if you provide your input, feedback and suggestions regarding the same. Your opinion is valuable to us because everything we do will be for us as a whole.

Please, No one should feel left out... we are getting so much involved so that you won't have to take much trouble- We need you and We are listening. Keep firing whatever you have to say and we'll surely consider your voice.

Minutes of Meeting PART 1 : First CBA Chat Conference'

Today's chat conference was attended by Mohit Aneja, Sameer Relan, Gaurav and (Myself) Abhinav Sood.

The main agenda of the chat conference was to plan the development of Chandigarh Bloggers' Alliance's official website (www.ChandigarhBloggers.com)

Basic idea behind the website was discussed, and pages/sections were planned and arranged in an order as the community would want them.

The key points that were brought up and talked upon were - installing and using Joomla as the CMS platform; drafting a basic structure and logic for the various sections of the website- like the Link Directory, The Community Blog, The Discussion Forums, etc.; deciding a specific order of arrangement of these pages/sections according to their importance.

2. Members List (Some contact information should be Integrated in some way- Programmers, you've got work!)
3. Discussion Forums - (SMF or IPB)
4. Community Blog - (Wordpress or Joomla)
5. Events and Schedule Page
6. Official Contact Information (Admin,Support,Communication,etc @ chandigarhbloggers.com)

- Saurabh's Blueprint has a lot of good points that we can integrate with this very basic plan.

We can however drop out things like Scrapbooks and Messaging systems, because Discussion Forums address both of these purposes.

Okay, recommend more additions and subtractions in this thread :)
