   I started out to provide news for my family and friends when i moved internationally and I found that the posts my friends responded to were the ones where I was sharing the results of my academic research - thus I launched a blog that focuses examination of faith, the Bible, and theology, in the context of literature, popular culture and current affairs by a young scholar. I am learning about the pitfalls of blogging as I go - it is very interesting sharing my intellectual space with others, it is quite an exercise in a a certain level of professional vulnerability...I guess that is the nature of my blog though!

   I believe Christians can serve God in their writing of experiences in their walk with Him. Most of us can't get a book published but have found that blogging is a great medium to share the gospel and our experiences.     I work in parish ministry. I also love writing and storytelling and have done so in some form or another since I was 8 or so. Three years ago, during the summer months when things get quite slow around our parish, I came across a couple of interesting blogs and was intrigued by the form. A combination journal, news source, and debate forum, it struck me a s the perfect format with which one could work out externally ones own inner struggles or celebrate ones own joys and inspirations, as well as being a means of inspiring myself to do the kind of writing I had wanted to do for a number of years.
    
    Cura Animarum began as a pretty hap-hazard place. A blog without a clear voice. A real scrapbook of personal events, anecdotes and reflections, things I found amusing or frustrating in my life or on the web or in the Church or as a result of working in parish ministry.
    
    Over these past two years though, as my own training in the discipline of Spiritual Direction came to completion, it has taken a far more Spirit-filled, spiritual path. I find it most useful, and I get the most satisfaction from, sharing what I know about prayer, what my own relationship with God has been like in the past, is now, and how it is growing towards the future.
    
    It truly has become, at least for myself and my (very limited readership) a place of care for the soul. It is my quiet place apart where my Beloved and I meet, and fall in love all over again each day.

    Well my blog is a unique approach to Spreading the word. I set it up for a Christian Skate Ministry our chruch runs called U|sk8. Its a way to reach the kids who wouldnt usually attend church or listen to scripture. We set up a skate park on a weekly basis and always bring in new and fresh ideas. We let the kids give input and instead of running them off our property because they skatebaord we invite them in. Please take a look at it if you have time. It is a growing minstry and we are making connections all the time. Followers would be appreciated because that helps our exposure but ultimately this blog was created for those who attend. There are spiritual messages with every skate session and we try be there for any of them show them what Christ can do for them.

    I started blogging as both an outlet for my desire to write and also as the beginnings of a big dream I have... the only pitfall is that I find it hard to find the time to devote to blogging... hence only seem to post about once a week at the moment. I do love it, though.
