Full Force - Republican Bloggers Standing

I've heard Jindal's name tossed around. Of course Palin, even though I personally think she isn't ready yet and she would be a much bigger force to be reckoned with in 2016 or 2020.

What do y'all think??

  1. I don't know ... I'm more concerned as to whether the party is going to support principled politicians, or keep supporting the hacks that continue to grow the size and scope of government.

I've been able to vote for 22 years, and I've been a registered Republican since day one. But ever since the nomination of McCain "the Moderate," following Bush's socialist domestic policies, I've made the personal decision to vote principle over party. I'd rather the Democrats destroy this great nation, than have it destroyed by someone who actually got my vote.

What I want is a Thomas Jefferson ... but I'd more than "get a thrill down my leg" with another Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan!

There are some genuine conservative politicos out there. The trick is in bending the will of the party's Northeastern Elite.
  2. I believe Jindal will be a force to be reckoned with. He's smart, presentable, charismatic and actually has bold policies and ideas. A must to be president. Depending on how popular Obama remains will say a lot on who runs in 2012. If Obama looks to be a two term president than people like Jindal will most likely pass and finish a second term as governor to set the pace for '16.

Having said all of that, I'm with CL. We need new blood and bold new leadership. The 'next in line' crap got us where we are. It's time we choose principles again.

Personally, I'm far more interested in the mid-terms in 2010 then anything. The results of those elections will be a good indication of the Republican chances of a come back.
  3. What is missing in this country.... the fresh taste of real opression. The kind of taste that our founding fathers had in thier mouths when they wrote the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution of the United States of America. We have become greedy and complacent, fat and ignorant. Most Americans when presented with the first paragraph of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence could not correctly identify which document it belonged to.

That was a time when the words RIGHTS, FREEDOM, LIBERTY and RESPONSIBILITY meant something. What this country is missing is someone who understands that kind of FIERCE LOYALTY and willingness to sacrifice everything up to and including thier life to participate in thier own government, to ensure not only thier freedom but ours. Today, all of these things are taken for granted; they are simply assumed.

So YES, what we need is Thomas Jefferson, or a George Washington, or a John Adams... Are there no more men who are so firmly planted and unwavering in thier beliefs and so passionate about this land that they could stir the entire country to action?

So who do I think it would be... I don't know, but I do know this... Unless Obama fails miserably.... its likely that he will get that second term. And if the best Republicans sit the next election out because they dont think that thier chances are very good... I will have lost all faith in the party that I have claimed my whole life as my father before me and his father before him.
  4. Sarrah Palin, 100%
    1. Here Here! That is one pure-hearted, lion-hearted, smart, capable lady.
  5. I don't know. Someone who is a better campaigner than McCain. And someone who will stick with their principles while in office. Low taxes, small government, liberty and freedom for Americans. It's not that complicated. I hope we can roll back all these liberal/socialist changes that are being made to our country.
  6. Ron Paul 2012!
  7. I have been hoping for years that Newt would run because he would be great. Remember there would be no Ronald Reagen without Carter.
  8. I could go with Palin if she sticks with her principles. I really haven't heard any other Republican politician be so vocal for small govrnment, liberty, lower taxes, strong defense as her. Why are more stepping up and speaking out and taking a leadership role in the party.
  9. I admire Palin very much so, and I hope I can buy her book, but to be be honest, I like her better as a person and activist than as a politician. Some of her foreign policy positions worry me, which is the primary reason I probably wouldn't vote for her as president. Don't get me wrong: She's a woman of integrity with a proven record of nonpartisanship, great free market principles, solid traditional values, and down-to-earth ingenuity - but she's not ready for the presidency. That being said, she is a hero of mine, and I hope she continues to speak out the horrid dictatorship of the current administration.
