   I like to watch what other artist create.Then some of their details trigger the brain and creates new idea.Sometimes when I close my eyes I can see the shapes and function,after that if I'm pleased with idea I create quick sketch.I like to work both with 3d and 2d softwares,but more in shapes and form nor in vectors and bitmaps.But it is nice when you can combine them.

   How to get an idea.. Well, for me.. I would see lots of stuffs, hear things that brings creativity in all sense. It's not always working in a click. Sketching or to bring your idea into the digital stage is just another process that follows an idea.
   You also need to understand what subject that leads to an idea. The purpose of an idea. Combine the old and new elements (great thought of you!) and see if it is possible for more explorations. Hence, it will be much easier for you to develop an abstraction of idea(s) into visual form.
