Hey folks, what is your biggest challenge around your home. Is it painting, lawn and garden work, cleaning and organization or maybe just getting up off that couch and doing what needs to be done. Because I'm sure someone here will be able to help by letting you know what works for them. Let's see what our challenges are and better yet how we can fix them.

I love home improvement projects but am fairly well challenged by them. It seems that when it comes to home improvement projects I do the work of 3 people. I build it, tear it down and build it again!

Our biggest challenge is finding the time to do home improvements. I stay busy with my teaching job and my website, and my husband is busy taking care of the farm and running his family here and there.
Tom...it sounds like you have a good sense of humor about your skills. Just think of all you are learning by doing and re-doing though!

That's very true Debbie what you said to Tom about learning by doing - there is nothing like experience. I find that each time I do something I continually get better at it.
As far as finding time, it's not easy and most of us have the same problem - not enough of it. Time is our scarcest resource, most people think that it is money, but it's not. Sometimes you just have to schedule it in and then JUST DO IT!

Scott....you are so right about scheduling it and then doing it! Around here we refer to it at The List.
So when there are things I want done that my husband isn't too enthusiastic about I have to keep checking to see if they are on The List yet....LOL If I catch him on a good day, every now and then my things are at the top of The List.
On a more serious note, here is what works for me when I get overwhelmed with too many things that need to be done. I make a real list of what I want to accomplish that day. Then I go through the list and mark things off as I get them done. Marking them off gives me a visual of seeing things being accomplished. Maybe this will be helpful to someone else.-
Hi Debbie, Someone once told me that they make a list, but then they throw the list away. I guess they meant that their intentions were good, but they really weren't into it.
Seriously, I love the list idea also! I find that when I get overwhelmed, I also make a list of what I need to do and then scratch things off my list as they get accomplished. I completely agree that this is the best way to get the most done. Great minds think alike.
