Jamaican Lovers Group

I would have to say I am a city person, so Kingston holds the nightlife for me. I hear the countryside of Jamaica is nice though.

Montego Bay
Portland

  1. Well I was just talking to someone who was Flying to Ocho Rios this weekend + I've heard it's Beautiful* Even tho it's 2nd Day of Spring here in Canada I wish I was on lovely Sunny + Warm Negril Beach enjoying Red Stripes + Appleton Rum!! ;)) Peace* + Bob Marley*******
  2. Shaw Park Gardens in Ocho Rios. I think it has a different name now and it's probably the grounds for a hotel now but I remember going there as a kid. It's one of the places I'd love to revisit someday.
    1. If you mean the Shaw Park gardens at the top of Shaw Park road its still there.
  3. 1-My home in SE St Elizabeth. This is where I am most at peace!
    2-YS Falls, St Elizabeth
    3-Negril- the beach at Cosmo's
    4-Lover's Leap, St Elizabeth
    5-Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth-Jack Sprat-Taino Cove-MarBlue

I have traveled all over Jamaica and seen beauty all around me, but I have never seen any place that soothes my soul like St Bess!

    Bless Up,
    Lady Roots
  4. I can't say where my favorite place in JA is. The whole island is special in some way or another. But I have to agree with the countryside comment....nothing much compares to the countryside.

Iriegal, just for you....here are some countryside pics:

  5. I like Treasure Beach too but my ultimate favorite is the mountains of Mandeville!
  6. You know as long as I have lived in Jamaica I have never been to Mandeville.
    1. That's crazy cuz even I've been there!!! Didn't stay long but the most memorable thing about it was how nice and cool it was up there...actually kinda cold! Beautiful place though.
  7. I plan to celebrate my birthday in Jamaica next year. Hope to get to all the spots I missed
  8. My favourite place is Portland. It is full of wonderful sceneries. Dont forget the best Jerk chicken and pork.

I have a lot of information about the best places to go when you visit Jamaica.

    1. I have to agree with you Portland is underestimated. My family is from Noriwich (up in the hills of Portland) and Fairyhill. Indeed no Jerk is better then the one that comes from Portland
  9. Up in the hills of St Ann.......away from all of the tourist!
  10. Okay I just got back a couple days ago again and I have to say that Portland was amazing!! Didn't have nearly enough time there and the jerk was to die for!

BUT I'm with JT.....I stayed most of my trip in Claremont and NOWHERE beats the weather up there. Cooooool and nice. Easy to sleep at night. Loved it.
    1. JamCan, sorry I haven't been back to blogcatalog for awhile, I have been ill, so haven't been on my site either, but loved to hear you had such a fantastic time in Portland. My GOD yes they have KILLER JERK in Portland.
