My First Meme...eek!

I decided to give meme creation a try on my eavesdropping blog. It's not a tag meme but rather a story chain. Readers are invited to write the ending to a conversation I've overheard. I have no idea how it will go over. I'm hoping for any participation at all! I will post a few updates in this group. Here's the link if anyone's interested:

Well, only one participant in my new meme, so far. Maybe it's too early, but I had hoped for a few stories by now. What's interesting is I think the meme-tagged post has discouraged people from posting regular comments. I usually get about 20 some comments pretty quickly after posting. This one has only seven.
I did get a traffic surge the day I posted the meme, though, and my subscriptions have increased by nine. Stay tuned...-
That's a great idea, Dane. In fact, I have been working on an e-book of my own endings to my overheard conversations. Opening it up to readers' imaginations is definitely something to consider.
I'm also drafting a blog newsletter. I've researched the concept and other bloggers seem to get good results with theirs, as long as it's not annoying to readers. I'll include an unsubscribe link, of course. I'm going to be ready with it by next month and I'll feature my creative writing prompt.

Guess what, things are looking up! Three writers wrote endings and two readers commented on all of them. I'm feeling hopeful about next week's. This is addictive. Could one possibly suffer from memism? Could we perhaps be memologists? I know, put a sock in it, right?
