I'm curious what social media sites people here actually use? There are so many it can make my head spin. Has anyone had any success or enjoyment with a particular one?

I sent this as a broadcast, but it didn't go out to everyone in the group, so I am trying it this way. My appologies to those who got this message twice.
After only two weeks, our group blog, NASCAR Bloggers FT Digest, at http://nbftdigest.wordpress.com, is growing up strong. We have already recieved nearly 500 hits, something that my own blog, Rev'Jim's RantsnRaves, took almost a year to do.
Since we try to treat the Digest partly as a directory to blog items posted by the members of this group on your own blogs, the more exposure the Digest gets, the more your own blog should get. If we have not posted a blurb about your blog yet, please be patient, because surfing everyone's blogs takes time, especially when one is condemned to using dial-up, as I am.
Or you could join the staff of the blog and post commentary about your own blog, or snippets from your own blog yourself. All you have to do is open a free account at http://www.wordpress.com and email me @ revinjim@hotmail.com with the email you used to register at Wordpress.
Nine members of the NASCAR Bloggers Full Throttle group have joined the staff of the Digest as Associate Editors, and we are still waiting for the rest of you to do the same.
If you are like OttawaKent or Curmudgeon, and do not have a NASCAR blog, The NASCAR Bloggers FT Digest could be a place for you to post your thoughts and ideas about the sport you love (or love to hate), without departing from the theme of your own blog. Please give it a try.
The Digest is now being tracked by Ballhype. I'm not sure of the significance of that at this time, but if it means more exposure, that is a good thing

I posted to most of the group members suggesting that they register with Technorati and claim their blogs there. As I posted each member, I realized that many of us already belong to that site.
I am encouraging participation there, as that bloggers' social networking site has a rating system along with its directory and posting service, much as this one does, but is still another source of traffic. It is my opinion and experience that the more of these types of sites you belong to, the easier it is to attract new readers
Since I have put the "Bloggers' Digest" idea on hold for now, I am suggesting Technorati as an additional tool we can add to promote our blogs. Please, if you have already registered with that site, don't forget to add your fellow Full Throttlers to your favorites there. Thank you all for your continued participation
