This idea is rather old actually; many groups have been doing it so I thought why not just add it to our group too. It doesn't matter which group, you will always want traffic and readers.

SO here goes, just put up your URL for other people
-to add on their blogrolls
-to Stumble, Digg and the likes

In return, do the same for every URL submitted here. It's give and take.

For those who don't have the buttons/widget, this site http://www.addthis.com/ provides all the buttons/widget (bookmarking & sharing; RSS too) you need for the above function except blogroll. Adding the buttons to your blog is very easy and only takes a few minutes.

Good luck!

Internet is a big platform to share your talents, creations but its a big poaching ground too.

Do you try to keep a clear proof that the poem is written by you? or wont mind if you see it in magazine under someone else's copy right?

i do these two things:-

1. i always publish my poem on two different
sites on the same day.
2. I have created a private blog (contents not
visible to anyone)and i post my poems in
that blog a long ago before i put them to my

Hi everyone! This discussion is spurred thanks to Writings who has been campaigning hard for this group to revive as in the post "Reviving the group".

And so we both proposed to have this:
-a group of maybe 2-5 people Voters (which will be rotated/changed) to be formed once a week
-ask for links submissions to be reviewed by these Voters, they will then post up a list of 5 selected blogs after they discuss with each other or vote for it (Communication is strictly via Private message/email for the thrill of surprise LOL).
-links submission + descriptions to make it more attractive not just to us Voters but to others too.
-then post the final list on this discussion board, The List
-criteria and judgment of selections: contents, design etc. This is subjective actually, depending on the Voters of the week. They will or will not list down their criteria.
-You can re-submit as many times as you want
-you can even recommend other people's blogs.
-submit before a particular deadline set by the week's Voters

Strictly for POETRY blogs only, meaning that you must have POEMS on your blog(s).

This way, members can each get a chance to be reviewed by many people many times since they can also re - submit each time a new list is about to be published. Plus point, it also helps in promoting your blogs.

So come now!! We Voters too are waiting for you!!! =)

Hi,

I am Trisha, a newcomer here, i am sharing a little about myself and hoping to know about you and your blogs, so we can intermix.

I have been writing casually since 2006. I write more for self introspection and analisation of human relationships. My main interest is human being and its relationship with fellow human beings and the way they act.

You can treat my works as a canvas where I am drawing things from my own perspective, they may be wrong, in that case I will love you to point out my mistakes but gently.
Because I too respect and believe that every human being possesses a sensitive heart.

On personal scale I am a peace loving human being. Who believes in living a life of peace and dignity and hopes the same for every one else.

My hobbies are too many because I love every thing which is beautiful and love to relish them. So some of my hobbies are reading, writing, listening to music, enjoying art, nature, life, watching good movies etc etc.

Hi friends,

You all must have joined the group with some serious intentions. Most of you did not expected a dish full of delicacies to be handed out to you. You came here to help others and get help in return. I cant bring back the group to life alone, We all will have to do it. lets just start by introducing ourselve and our blogs in a single discussion, kind of handy directory.

then we can check these blogs and select the ones we like.

and after that we can read each other's work and comment.

what do you say? i have posted messages on your shout boxes, hope i did not disturbed you.
if i did, i apologise and if you will let me know then it will not be repeated.

LET THE SINCERE GROUP MEMBERS MEET ATLEAST ONCE A WEEK????

I am quite hopeful to get you guys back here.

With best wishes for reviving the group...

I did some playing around last night with Audacity (a freely downloadable sound recorder...Google it) and my microphone, and recorded a streaming audio version of my latest poem.
You can listen to (and read) it here:

I think this is a good way to mix modern media with poetry: the internet gives us the tools to produce art in multiple forms. I like the idea of letting my readers take one of my poems and download it to their iPods, to listen to anywhere they go.

Have any of you recorded your poetry and put it online?

Today I discovered a new blog directory with a specialized focus that should appeal to a lot of you folks, Poetry Blog Rankings:
http://www.poetryblogrankings.com/
This site aims to list all the blogs in the world that feature poetry and/or poets, connecting readers and writers of poetry in the process. For readers, the site provides tools for finding new poetry blogs, rating them, and bookmarking your favorites. For writers, the site provides a way to introduce your poetry to new readers and compare your blog's popularity against others.

Membership in Poetry Blog Rankings is free for poetry readers and writers. There is a link for donations, if you wish to support the site; that page also lists their ideas for future expansion and features.

A blog's ranking within the directory depends on how members rate it. If you already belong to Poetry Blog Rankings -- or if you decide to join -- please consider rating "The Wordsmith's Forge" according to your taste:
http://ysabetwordsmith.livejournal.com
You can look me up there as (alias) Ysabetwordsmith.
The directory recommends that members read at least three of a writer's poems before ranking that blog; to view my poems available on this blog, click the "poem" tag in my blog.

If your poetry blog is listed on Poetry Blog Rankings, let me know your alias and I'll go rate it.
