Cindy, Drew,
Can you tell us if Dr. Paul has specifically addressed the War On Drugs in his speeches or position papers. Given that the Libertarian position is clearly to end the War on Drugs and Dr. Paul's other widely known Libertarian views, I would expect this to be the case but the WOD is something of a third rail in politics, so I don't know and am asking.

Sure - that's a good question. Ron has addressed this from various sides of the coin. He is and always has been against the war on drugs. Here's a 'transcript'/article on this same question that he received last week at the PBS debate:

He's also written about WOD from a doctor's perspective, here:

Alan,
There is actually another resource that I should have provided. It's one of my favorite resources: ronpaullibrary.org
See WOD articles here: www.ronpaullibrary.org/topic.php?id=23
I look forward to more questions you may have regarding Dr. Paul.
Also, thanks for stirring some political discussions in the discussion boards here - it's always good to get more people thinking about the election well before it occurs. -
Ron Paul's record has been very consisten - if the Constitution doesn't explicitly allow the Federal Government to do something, he votes against it. And unlike most other legislators, he actually READS proposed legislation to see what's in it.
The War on Drugs isn't a Federal power granted by the Constitution.
