  1. Just a few of my favorites....
Run for the Roses 5K (Kensington, MD)
    Lewisburg 5-Miler (Lewisburg, PA)
    Twilighter 8K (Rockville, MD)
  2. The Bolder Boulder 10K. It's more of a party than a real run with 50,000 people running the streets of Boulder and then ending up at the University of Colorado football stadium
  3. Dallas White Rock Marathon,
    OKC Memorial Marathon.

NYC Marathon and by far my favorite is Boston where I am still overwhelmed just to be there...

  4. I like the Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco. It's a race from one end of the city to the SF beach. Straight, up hills, down hills and flat. Lots of people, but if you are a serious runner, get there early.

The Bay to Breakers is an annual footrace which takes place in San Francisco, California. The name reflects the fact that the race runs from the northeast end of the downtown area near The Embarcadero (the Bay side of the city) to the west end of the city and Ocean Beach (the ocean breakers near the finish line on the Pacific coast). The race is 7.46 miles (12 kilometers) long, and is run on the third Sunday in May.

Some people dressup really weird, so avoid them go super early to sign up.
  5. I second the recommendation for the Bay to Breakers race. It was crazy!

I also loved the NYC Marathon. It is an experience you will never forget.

Cherry Blossom 10 Miler in DC is another great race.
  6. I have 3 that I run every year, without fail:

    Chicago's Shamrock Shuffle 8K: www.shamrockshuffle.com
Great course, tons of spectators, and the first race of the season. Chicago is such a great city to run in because it's flat and fast.

    Elmhurst (IL) 4 on the 4th: www.4on4th.com/4on4th/index.html
A 4-miler on July 4th. Great out and back course, everyone's in a great mood, and it's early enough that it still leaves you most of your 4th to celebrate.

    Naperville (IL) Turkey Trot: www.napervilleturkeytrot.com/
A great start to Thanksgiving...and by running in the morning, I don't feel guilty about all the food I eat in the afternoon!
