Hey, I would just like to encourage women entrepreneurs everywhere to take that step to follow their vision of what they want from life, both personal and professional. I really appreciate small business tips like these, written by real people.

  1. Welcome to the group bizchick and for your comment too.

Do you have any business tips you'd like to share? How about any friends you could invite to join the group? HA! We're starting out slow here...

  2. I will invite my friends and business contacts for sure. One important tip I will share is the importance of consistency. If you have a great idea, try it out for at least several months. Don't try new ideas and toss them the next day like dirty socks when they don't work right away.
  3. I concur! I've had experience with that in the past as far as a website's homepage design.

I used to work for a company who would change the site often (which is good) but not track the results and if they had a bad day they would immediately change the site again without really A/B testing it to see if the new page was working. You just never know unless you stick with it, track measurable results and analyze your findings.
  4. Hi. I am a new independent business owner (I work out of my home doing freelance graphic design and selling on Etsy) and am hoping to one day be able to do this full time. I do have to work another job right now to pay the bills, but I am really enjoying being in "control" of where my life is going. I used to work full time for a big graphic design agency, but it was very draining and made my life miserable. There is nothing better than working for yourself!
  5. I agree completely. It's nice to be able to implement your own ideas and to know that you are responsible for your own destiny.

I LOVE owning my own business and wouldn't trade it for anything.

It can sometimes be stressful if sales are slow or if there are too many things to do and you can't seem to get time off, but I really thrive on being busy so I like that.

You must be exhausted Shalom from doing two jobs at once!

I hope that you soon get to work only for yourself and you can stop working your other job and be successful on your own

  6. While I am a male, one of the business owners I know has been developing a website called "Women with-know how" www.womenwithknowhow.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

It's basically (to quote her site) a "business directory exclusively for women. Women With Know How is organized by industry type. Featured editorial will also be found on issues pertaining to women. We are set for a late spring release and are a yearly publication. 50,000 copies will be distributed throughout the greater Charlotte metropolitan area."

She is really starting to push it forward and I think it is a great resource for women. I highly suggest checking it out!
