I'm new to Squidoo and was wondering if anyone could give me some general advice, or answer a few specific questions:

1. Do you use squidoo for personal stuff or to promote an existing site?

2. What is the best way to set up a lens (idea-wise)?

3. How hard is it to grow traffic to a lens, and what are the best methods?

Other general thoughts/suggestions?

What is blogcatalog's criteria for Squidoo lenses'

I have 17 lenses and have tried to get some of the better ranked ones listed in my blog catalog profile and each time they get declined. Usually not with any specific reason just a list of why this may have happened. This is my first and main lens that has been declined twice and I am not sure why. http://www.squidoo.com/babyboomersandretirement.

The last one I tried was declined because of "commercial content" and yet I see many lenses in blogcatalog which are also affiliate lenses. This lens has much more to it than just a product promotion.

I had trouble promoting my lens, and since I'm pretty good with social media I thought I could get some traffic that way. I get almost zero traffic to it, outside of Stumble, but I have so much fun with it that I don't care.
