Kikolani (http://www.blogcatalog.com/user/kikolani) has stumbled upon an article which I think is very useful, interesting and worth pursuing further.

I have a topic here on the bloggers bible, that is still running, which is "what annoys you more on a blog" and so far all feedbacks have one thing in common, and that is ads. Be it placements, quantity, formats, etc., it appears that this is one of the most important issues when monetizing a blog.

So, the purpose of this topic is to have your personal opinion on:

What do you think are the best type of ad formats?
Where do you believe should ads be placed?
In your experience, what converts better for you?

Please note that these questions are related to you as a publisher/blogger and not as an advertiser.

Again, results will be compiled and released when I have enough feedback from everybody. Thanks

I'd be interested to know what people's views are on how to make ADSENSE work.. I know there are other discussions and groups talking about this all the time, but what I'm looking for here is the DEFINITIVE bible entries, and examples if possible.

In my case, I've stuck to text ads only, and these are only placed in the sidebar and at the end of each post. I have a banner ad too, but I'm considering taking it down as the consensus seems to be in favour of no banners.

You can check out my post here as an example of what I'm using:

Frequently Answered Questions or FAQ is a term that most of you already know. What I want to do, is to compile a reasonable amount of comments relating to, what you think are the most annoying things you do not want to see on a blog. What drives you away - the ads, the badges, pop-ups, audio plugins, text links, snap, etc.? FAC means, "Frequently Annoying Craps", and most of the time, the information we have access to this subject is an individuals specific point of view (not bad), however my objective is to compile as much input from all of you. I will compile all the submissions you make and then choose the ten most relevant FAC submitted here and publish the results for everyone to see and use.
