Political Discussions

[edit: The title should say "coverage". BC doesn't allow for me to correct that misspelling]

I will be posting daily analyses of the key speeches from the Democratic National Convention. Please feel free to stop by my blog and check them out. I have posted stories about Michelle Obama's and Hillary Clinton's speeches so far. Feel free to drop a comment at my site or at this thread.

To be honest I think people would be better off if
they read no commentary about the convention and
were just allowed to watch it and decide for themselves.
Unfortunately most networks are not covering it fully, Fox not covering Pelosi's
speech at all. CNN allowing Blitzer's commentary to take place at the time of it, and MSNBC
so busy trying to get their opinions and commentary heard
before people actually have time to soak it in that Chris Matthews hasn't been able to take breath,
as you can clearly tell by looking at his disheveled hair and staccato breathing last night.

I am amazed how only PBS is carrying it on broadcast television. Whatever happened to democracy?

Mark: I've tried watching on TV and it's driving me nuts. I created a news alert on the Finacial Times for "Denver" + "speech" and am just reading the speeches myself.

I look at it on C-SPAN every night as well. Coverage without commentary.

Even though I'm providing coverage, I actually see your point. What I do is watch the speeches and then get the transcript to make sure I have the quotes right. Then I avoid media commentary like the plague so that it won't cloud my own opinion and influence what I write in my blog. I want my blog commentary to reflect my fresh, un-adulterated take on the Convention. So I guess I'm both contributing to and fighting against your problem.
