Do we hold politicians up to unreal expectations when it comes to marriage fidelity?

I have always liked Elizabeth Edwards, and my heart goes out to her regarding John Edwards' affair. However, I think the public is taking this whole affair a lot worse than the Edwards themselves. We seem to love to eat up news of affairs, especially when they are politicians. What do you think of Elizabeth Edwards' new book and the dirt that it is seeming to dig up one more time? Yes, what they do in their personal lives is their business. It doesn't belong on the front page of the newspapers or on the evening news. -
It is more "celebrity gossip" than publicly relevant
