DES MOINES, Iowa – Gay marriage, seemingly the province of the nation's two coasts, is just weeks away from becoming a reality in the heartland and apparently it will be years before social conservatives have a chance to stop it.

The Iowa Supreme Court on Friday unanimously upheld a lower-court ruling that rejected a state law restricting marriage to a union between a man and woman. Now gays and lesbians may exchange vows as soon as April 24 following the landmark decision.

I am very happy to hear that homosexuals will soon have the right to enter into wedded bliss and suffer just like the rest of us

Seriously, this is good news, hooray for Iowa!!!!

I love it, and, it would seem that there is no wiggle room for removing those rights until 2014, when a constitutional convention comes into play. But by then, I'm pretty sure it will just become the norm.

      Hopefully.

Now if only the rest of the nation would follow suit, we might be able to eventually move past bickering about civil rights.

Until the next group comes along

I think that as more states grant equality, more and more people will realize that the end of the world will not come at the hands of homosexual nuptials. That will give the go ahead to many people and states.
