Is this current election part of prophecy? Do you even believe in prophecy, and if you do, what form do you think it will take in our current life time, if in our lifetime? I've taken a closer look at it, and outline quite a bit about it at heavenandearthlings.blogspot.com. Ask yourself this...before or after you read the blog entry Obama and prophecy, isn't it strange the way Obama hit the scene, from almost nowhere, gaining the momentum that he gained? Also, isn't it strange the way some people gravitate toward him, and how people refer to him in almost Biblical terms. Are people subconciously or intutively picking up on things, because the present events are part of prophecy? Whatever you think right now, might change if you go to heavenandearthlings.blogspot.com, and read the entry there entitled Obama and Prophecy. I'd like to know what you think?

I don't think Obama is part of a prophecy. I think war, crime, hunger, disease and the breakdown of the catholic church is part of one. Obama is just a guy. Who came along with a very different approach than our last president, who is very much unlike a widely unliked president which fills people up with hope. He's a lot like MLK, and JFK and Robert Kennedy. This isn't the first time someone like him has come along and gained this much attention. It's just happening in a time when a black man is given half a chance.

I don't think you can compare Obama to the kennedys or MLK, he has very little substance compared to those guys. Obama looks good because we have had to endure eight years of Bush. It's like going to the doctors thinking you have arse cancer and him telling you it's only hemorrhoids, it's a blessed relief but your arse still hurts.

Wow, I love your reply. Now if you read Obama and Prophecy at heavenandearthlings.blogspot.com, you may be fascinated to see that in the write-up the civil rights movement is mentioned, of which MLK and Kennedy were a part. I'd like to know what you think after you read the blog. Just click on the link to hte left Obama and Prophecy when you get to the blog. Best wishes.

Well thats all in personal opinion really. I personall do compare him to MLK and the Kennedy's because their highest virtue was the ability (and the balls) to face adversity and stand for change. It's not an easy thing to do. And he does it with grace and integrity. I wasn't around when MLK or the Kennedys were, for me and my generation this is our version and think it's very special.

Why do I feel like my computer is going to explode once I click on it? No thanks, paraphrase?

I wasn't around to see those guys either but I do know one thing, a lot of people are going to be awfully disappointed with Obama because he will change nothing except the presentation style of Corporate policy.
If he represented real change he wouldn't have made it past the first primary.

I sincerely hope people are looking at his position and ability in a realistc way. Politicians will always be politicians, but hope can do amazing things. You tell your child that they can grow up to be president or a nfl star not really thinking it will happen, but hoping that it inspires them to shoot for the stars. Obama is just a man, as were the civil rights leaders of my parents day, but what they did that was more important than marching was providing people with hope and reminding them that there are other options.

I hope you are right and I am wrong, I really do.

I agree. Obama is a combination of MLK and the Kennedys, but smarter.

If this is so, then he (Obama) could equally be the Anti-Christ. Considering both the House and the Senate are controlled by Democrats this Democrat candidate, if elected, could very well be.

As in end of days prophecy?
    1. harthame
Prophecy need not necessarily refer to the end. Alot of things and happenings can be prophecy (fate), that don't have to tie into the end. Visit my blog and see what I mean. (heavenandearthlings.blogspot.com)

Wow a religious and political thread all rolled up into one!

This belongs on the political board please.
    1. lotusb
      Yea, your right.
    2. harthame
It is not a political thread in the least. World prophecy will automatically include world leaders.
    3. Anok
It involves religion and political figures - ergo to the political board it goes!
    4. aningeniousname
      There's a politics board?

Shouldn't this be in shameless blog promotion??
    1. harthame
I suppose it might be shameless if it were about profiting. It is about however sharing information, as well as finding out about what people really think. Nothing shameful in that.
    2. harthame
If going to my blog promotes the discussion that I have brought up...is that shameless?...I think not...I think it actually promotes the discussion, because it is actually what I discuss at the blog. It does promote the blog, but for the sake of discussion, not to sell anything or show you something, but to promote the discussion and the thought.
  6. magnamatt
Then shouldn't this discussion be taking place on your blog?? Not in the general discussion topic?

The only people I ever hear speak of Obama in "almost Biblical terms" are those who are raising this prophecy issue or opponents who want to claim that Obama's supporters see him as the "messiah". I've never heard an actual Obama supporter speak in those terms.
  8. MarkPogue
    Prophets...phooey!

Obama's charisma is that he exudes hope and equality. Probably the best political speaker since the 60s.
  9. RenalFailure
I enjoyed The Prophecy starring Christopher Walken. I don't think Obama was in that movie, but it would be awesome if he was.
  10. wehireu
You can interpret prophecy any way you want. But, if you interpret prophecy my way, Doonesbury has it right. Obama is likely to win. Making prophecies based on things likely to happen is the way to go.
