This is Rove's third subpoena. The House has him scheduled to testify at 10:00 Feb. 23. Will the spineless House democrats roll over and let Rove walk all over them again or will they enforce the subpoena?

You're probably right. Funny nobody's reporting on this today.

He didn't show. He should be thrown in prison like he orchestrated for Don Siegleman.

Figures. Any news on what will be the appropriate punishment?

It will be a while, but the House has to vote on whether or not to hold him in contempt, which they better do. What's the point of having laws if they're not enforced?

The really despicable thing about this case is what Rove did to Don Siegelman. The jury, following the instructions from a corrupt judge, had no choice but to find Siegelman guilty. He wasn't allowed an appeal and was shackled and taken from the courtroom directly to prison. That's unheard of in a case like that -- especially when no laws were even broken.

Rove is...well...I'm not gonna say what I think of him

I seriously hope the law is enforced.

They better do something this time! I'm sick and tired of his pompous behavior and the lame politicians letting him get away with it.

"Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) subpeonaed Rove to find out what he knows about the Dec. 2006 firings which eventually toppled former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales."

Tell John Conyers what you think: conyers.house.gov/

"The next big development will occur on March 4, when the Obama administration is scheduled to file a motion in federal appeals court laying out its position on the issue."

Who's gonna report on it?! The news media is like the police--they protect their own.

According to some Republicans all mass media has liberal bias except for Fox News and right-wing talk radio, so we should be hearing about this a lot.
    2. Anok
      Yeah, you know?
  4. Agit8r
The media has a corporate bias first and formost. After all, they pay their bills (y'know commercials)
  5. Stillthinking
Karl Rove belongs in prison along with several other members of the Bush Administration (cough cough Dick Cheney cough cough)
    1. Agit8r
Nice Dick Cheney immitation. Very believable!

They still may have their day at The Hague, you know.
    2. Stillthinking
      I highly doubt that.
  6. Agit8r
    nice thought though

I've got to wonder with the Congolese war criminal that they are trying are better off in a Hague cell or in the Congo.
  8. Stillthinking
The Hague no longer executes war criminals. If he remained in Congo, he would probably have been executed in some horrible fashion.
  9. Agit8r
Right, a nice clean cell, no malaria infested mosquitos, safe drinking water...

Rove, Miers to talk in U.S. attorneys probe
    politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/03/04/judiciary-committee-says-rove-and-...

"Rove and Miers had been resisting congressional subpoenas about the matter, but a federal judge in Washington ruled that the former Bush administration officials had no grounds to invoke executive privilege in the case."
