Obama breaks another promise...

Hat tip to FloppingAces.com on this one.
"A former Treasury official has told the watchdog for the $700 billion Wall Street bailout program that President Obama’s promise to restrict lobbyist access to the bailout was made purely for political reasons.
Months after the administration’s pledge, the lobbyist rules haven’t been implemented and Neel Kashkari, the one-time czar of the agency’s Troubled Asset Relief Program, told the office of the special inspector general for TARP that the pledge to craft safeguards against lobbyist influence was a defensive move."
You mean El Presidente only SAID he was going to ban lobbyists and put all these restrictions on them?
But his is the honest, open and transparent administration...isn't it?

Why no links in the source to back up this claim??
True or not, it still fails in comparison to an unjust war that costs $720 million daily that led to the deaths of thousands of soldiers and innocent civilians, the previous administrations disregard of law and the near destruction of the US economy.-
Okay… found the link to the original article. The OP and linked blog post failed to include this or sight the original source which it should. Additional text not included in the linked post:
“Treasury has pumped about $200 billion in TARP funds into failing banks, and nearly $70 billion of that has been repaid.
Mr. Kashkari told the government auditors in April that part of the reason the rules hadn’t been issued was because the department was sorting through First Amendment concerns that could be involved in restricting lobbyist communications.
While heading TARP, he had received calls from members of Congress, he said, but he was certain there was no undue influence on Treasury’s decisions.
In an Aug. 6 audit report, the inspector general’s office said it hadn’t found any evidence of lobbying having influenced TARP decisions, but that limitations on Treasury’s record-keeping made it impossible to be certain of that.”

So... more speculation and a post that fails to include all the info... mmmm.
Tracking Obama’s campaign promises:

I am beginning to think El Presidente pays you to carry his water for him. You have no problem with his hiring of lobbyist after lobbyist when he promised not to do that AND made it a campaign issue?
How many lies and broken promises need to happen before you disagree with one thing Obama does? Or are you just so far in the tank for him that you think he walks on water like the rest of the far left?
As you point out, from that article:
"In an Aug. 6 audit report, the inspector general's office said it hadn't found any evidence of lobbying having influenced TARP decisions, but that limitations on Treasury's record-keeping made it impossible to be certain of that."
More of that promised transparency?? -
I voted for Obama and I support the agenda he outlined during the campaign. It makes perfect sense that I would defend him against of the falsehoods and distortions posted by you and others. I have no problem acknowledging real promises broken and I've provided links several times were people can view them along with promises kept.

Here is one of them again: www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ -
Obama is working to accomplish exactly what he outlined during the campaign. Had the previous administration turned over a healthy economy, he would not have gotten sidetracked trying to keep us from the next great depression.
You far right zealots always depict anyone of power on the left as far left. Nothing new there. Obama is much closer to the center than many Democrats.

Meh. Obama is just another politician. It's just so far he has been playing his cards more intelligently than some in the past. You dig deep enough and you can find A LOT of questionable material.
My current favorite is Obama's fishy association with NJ Gov. Jon Corzine... Having a lot of fun watching this one play out slowly bit by bit.-
Interesting that you're "having a lot of fun" watching purported problems for the U.S. President play out. I can't say that I ever "had fun" with any of the many fiascos of the Bush presidencies--I'd classify it as something more like anguish over the damage to this country. I guess it's all a matter of what you care about.

The facts are this: Black, White, Pink or Purple Obama is just another man and (sadly) just another politician.
Perhaps he'll be able to keep it. Perhaps not. He certainly has appeared to bite off more than he can chew in tackling a billion federal beasts at once, and yes. It is a fact that a lot of people are starting to feel violent at what things he HAS been able to implement for various reasons. I know *I* don't like his ideas of change, but then again I would have voted against him had I been allowed to vote.
Rather than defend him and getting upset, illogical and overprotective of him, let us look at these facts and remember.
Yes he IS a politician. It's a common and accepted practice in today's world that politicians lie. Most of us shrug our shoulders and go, "Oh well."
However, it really is too soon to say whether he's breaking his promise or not. So far it's not kept. Now if he did what JFK did when asked about his promise to stop the building of a dam that was going to wash out hundreds from their homes on a Reservation (and that would be to deny it and let it happen) then he'd be breaking it. -_-
My personal opinion is I expect him to break it. But I'll wait and see.
