   I don't really see this as an issue of having been suspended for wearing a political cap, but for blatantly disregarding a direct instruction.

   Yeah, it's kind of silly, but there is no freedom of speech when you're on the clock. They have every right to tell him what he can and cannot wear.

   ...his supervisor distributed a letter to all Fort Zumwalt bus drivers. It said that the district's policy prohibits "pins, T-shirts, hats or anything reflecting your opinions about a particular candidate or issue."
   
   The man was suspended for being stupid. If he can't follow basic clear instructions, I'd say its a good thing he isn't transporting children.
