REVOLUTION -- a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something: a change of paradigm. I.E. - "We're not going to take it anymore!"

Given that there is NO rational NOR legal reason to deny the Queer Community full federal equality, I wonder just how long both straight and gay Americans think we should be willing to "wait" for our DUE civil rights?

There is a LOT of anger and rage brewing "underground", and I fear this RAGE will explode one day if citizens AND government do not do what is resonsible and morally correct. I personally do not believe we have to "wait" and "go through the legal process" (i.e. - postpone).

WE ARE EQUAL. But it is becoming VERY difficult to participate in a government that legally HATES our family and children (i.e. - tax compliance, jury duty, etc.).

Unless heterosexuals are ALSO willing to have their marriages recognized or forbidden state by state, why SHOULD we recognize a government that fails MISERABLE to recognize us?

The 14th Amendment provides legal protection of all regardless of particularity. Enforcement, unfortunately is another matter

That's one reason why I stopped paying taxes in 2005. But the 14th needs to be amended to include sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

Not a penny until then I.R.S., since I also believe in the 2nd.

The people recognize you, your just trying to redefine what marriage actually is. If gay marriage is passed, then we will have to allow poligamy, beastiality, etc. I could marry a tree if I wanted to. If we let all of the above happen, marriage will have lost its meaning.

and your really one to talk?

Voodoo Kobra : I noticed you put "sexual orientations" in quotes and "pedophile" in the tags. ARE YOU STUPID enough to believe that pedophilia is a sexual orientation? It's a FUCKING paraphilia.

Your civil rights are currently intact.

The problem in brief is that gays are not allowed to marry the consenting partner of their choice, but the issue is more complicated than that.

There are a whole host of federal rights (I believe timethief had an exact number) afforded to married couples that do not apply to civil unions, domestic partnerships, etc. And 45 states in the US don't allow gays to have even that! There's also the "Separate, but not equal" issue that might possibly arise (possibly from insurance companies) from the segregation of marriage and civil unions/domestic partnerships.

Although I don't agree with the "Don't pay taxes" crap, the OP has a right to be outraged.

    Suggestion:

Name it something like, Queers for the Understanding that Everyone is Equal Revolution so the acronym is QUEER and it becomes highly recursive.

When stories like these are commonplace among gays, it is reason enough to refuse taxation, jury duty, or any other compliance with the government.

Some folks above do not understand what civil rights are; that doesn't matter - the country is already changing as we speak. I guess the "haters" will just have to deal with it.

The taxation/representation argument is not found in the Constitution. Therefore, your ethical basis for not paying taxes is not a legal basis.

Irrelevant tangents aside, there is no rational argument against gay marriage.
    2. jhixon2
just trying to redefine what the common world knows as marriage. Marriage is meaningless if we allow gays to marry.
    3. voodooKobra
      Marriage is meaningless regardless.
    4. satijournal
Yeah, if we allow gays to marry, next thing that will happen is Texans will want to marry sheep!

      or snakes...

Or robots. Or robot sheep. Or snake/sheep hybirds. I call them "Sneep."

"The taxation/representation argument is not found in the Constitution. Therefore, your ethical basis for not paying taxes is not a legal basis." - Yeah, that's the whole point, isn't it.

I could give a F*CK what is "legal" - that's part of the drive behind a "Revolt" or "Revolution". There IS equal protection, which states like IOWA have recently addressed, but again, who gives a F*CK. I'm not the only one who thinks it is B.S. to exclude gays from EQUAL PROTECTION for no rational, ethical, or constitutional reason.
