And we thought comedians would run out of material after Bush left office...
President Barack Obama should fill vacant spots on the federal bench with former President Bush’s judicial nominees to help avoid another huge fight over the judiciary, all 41 Senate Republicans said Monday.
In a letter to the White House, the Republican senators said Obama would “change the tone in Washington” if he were to renominate Bush nominees like Peter Keisler, Glen Conrad and Paul Diamond. And they requested that Obama respect the Senate’s constitutional role in reviewing judicial nominees by seeking their consultation about potential nominees from their respective states.

Some background on these nut-jobs:
Peter Keisler: co-founder of the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group that sought to control the federal judiciary
Glen Conrad: was a historian of south Louisiana culture, as well as an expert on archival studies, nineteenth-century European history, and the history of colonial Louisiana. Has been dead for six years.
Paul Diamond: Real name is Tom Boric who a former professional wrestler who was one half of the tag team “Badd Company” with Pat Tanaka and for his time in the World Wrestling Federation as Kato, one half of The Orient Express also with Pat Tanaka.
Republicans get nuttier and nuttier every day.

How does that change the tone in Washington.....? Just sayin'

Glenn Conrad is a Federal District Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Paul Diamond is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
As far as the federalist society... I know the concept of an academic collection of professionals that do judicial research is terrifying to you. Lord knows facts and knowledge is something you are unaccustomed to. -
Sati, I'm tiring of paying attention to what every crackpot Congressional Republican says. More relevant, I should think, are discussions among Democrats, and perhaps those few GOP members in the Senate who hew a little bit towards the center.
Granted, all we get in the media these days is, "The GOP said this. The GOP said that." Who cares?
On this note, check out Roger Simon's trenchant editorial: www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19534.html-
From the editorial:
“So here we have two systems,” Limbaugh said. “We have socialism, collectivism, Stalin, whatever you want to call it, versus capitalism.”
Limbaugh, like most republicans, equate the democratic philosophy to socialism, but the neoconservatives, like Limbaugh, promote an ideology that's much closer to fascism. They claim to be capitalists but their policies actually stifle competition and leave only a few behemoth conglomerates dominating the various sectors.
