Republican splinter groups RIRA (Real Irish Republican Army) and CIRA (Continuity Irish Republican Army) have shot dead two British soldiers and a police officer over the last few days.

The soldiers were unarmed, wearing dessert camouflage and due to fly out to Afghanistan the next day. They were shot dead as they received a pizza delivery at the gate of their barracks.

The police officer was lured into an ambush by responding to an emergency call. He was shot in the head.

It just takes a few people with murderous intent to endanger any peace process.

It might just take a few to endanger the process, but it takes leadership and willing members of society to cross the threshold from peace to more widespread violence. Here's hoping no one plays into the hands of these groups by giving them what they want: more violence and hatred.
