This was received in an e mail - granted, i t's a joke, a satirical look at what will happen if Obama takes office, according to more extreme right wing folks:

Internal Office Memo

Notice to All Employees:

As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into
office, our company will install a few new policies which are in keeping
with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:

1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a
common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will
serve to give those of you who are under achieving a "fair shake."

2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including
overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves.
This will help those who are "too busy for overtime" to reap the rewards from
those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.

3. All top management will now be referred to as "the government."
We will not participate in this "pooling" experience because the law
doesn't apply to us.

4. The "government" will give eloquent speeches to all employees
every week, encouraging it's workers to continue to work hard "for the good
of all."

5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because
it's "good to spread the wealth." Those of you who have underachieved will
finally get an opportunity to get ahead without actually having to work
for it and those of you who have worked hard and had success as a result will get
to feel more "patriotic."

6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their
desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free
healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and
he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't
afford to pay your mortgage. Also, if you appeal directly to our democratic
congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free
haircuts, because after all, shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking
hair?

If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want
to re-think your vote on November 4th.

Erm...yeah. I know it's supposed to be funny, but in a way, I think that's actually what they believe.

Hint: It's not only "more extreme right wing folks" that are hammering the Obama is a socialist theme. For probably 40 years this has been the talking point by Reps about Dems.

I know this seems shocking to you, especially from your generation and all, and that's probably why you think it is so extreme.

You see, Dems and socialists promise the world, but often they don't tell you the cost. Now, of course, Reps also get into spreading the wealth type rhetoric. You know of course, Sarah Palin is a wealth spreader herself. She takes big oil tax dollars and gives Alaskans a $2,000 check every year! Suprised the Dems haven't "mocked" her even more on that one!

I watched a PBS documentary about Nixon last night. It was funny how similar the arguments were during the 1960 election to the ones we're hearing now.

I consider anyone who jumps on the socialism McCarthist red scare boat at the drop of a hat or policy they don't like to be extreme.
    3. TheBigRuski
I guess you don't have any Republican friends then?

      Tolerance?
    4. Anok
I have a lot of republican friends and acquaintances. None of them are screaming "Socialism! Communism! The end is near!"

In fact, there is a rather large percentage that are voting for Obama here.

    LMAO!

THanks Anok, that one is getting mailed.

Glad I could make you laugh. I laughed too, but probably for a different reason

fascinating. republicans love to talk about democrats and liberals engaging in class warfare and that's exactly what this represents as practiced by conservatives. divide and conquer. never mind the skewed value system that gives shareholders and execs so much in compensation and bonuses but leaves employees in competition for an ever-shrinking piece of the pie.

america is, for all intents and purposes, a "right to work" nation with laws that invariably favor employers over employees. there's some pretense that it isn't the case but that goes right out the window whenever a company casually lays off ten percent of its work force because the stock price has dropped too far and the shareholders are getting restless.

the strange mis-perception that a middle or upper class birthright is somehow the product of hard work never ceases to amaze me. and of course there's the obligatory mention of "free healthcare" which seems almost obscene considering what a serious problem healthcare is turning into. i'd feel sorry for these people if they didn't seem so willfully stupid in such a profoundly ugly way. pathetic.

I love when conservatives bring up that "class warfare" thing--like if you beat the crap out of somebody and then, when he tried to throw a hand up to try and defend himself, you accused him of trying to start a fight.

What made me laugh, is that this is supposed to be a farce of Obama's policies, and an exaggerated reaction to it, except they got it backwards
  4. drjay1966
It looks like this is going to be a very rough week for right wingers. They need as many ridiculous jokes to laugh at as they can get.
    1. Anok
      I think so.
    2. loverofjazz
this thing is incredibly close to what a fair number of them really think.
      like i said, it's sad.
