Political Discussions

In my post tonight at peoplepowergranny.blogspot.com, I discuss what it was like when I got laid off a little over a year ago, and how I finally landed something...not as good of pay, but a chance to live in a more desirable place and change my lifestyle. Are you concerned about job layoffs. Will they affect your family? Vote in my poll!

My husband avoided the cut this year - I think if the business keeps doing OK, his job will be fine.

I am more worried about my landlord's employment, however. A layoff for them could mean higher rent or a non renewal of our contract for us. (meaning, they would need to move back into the rental property, and would sell their home).

They don't seem to be preparing for that, however, that doesn't mean it can't happen, and their lack of preparedness freaks me out a little it.

I was laid off a month ago. To prepare, I've sharpened a lot of pencils and got some really dark sunglasses and a white cane.

I just recently got back on my feet job wise, and my current job seems pretty stable.

I'm a freelancer so if the economy slows, I may have trouble finding work, but I haven't had any problems yet.
