Political Discussions

According to the US Census Bureau the U.S. population is 305,708,488 give or take a few.

Anyone interested in organizing a MARCH on Washington. Imagine if 305,708,488 people minus politicians showed up at the steps of Capital Hill demanding our country back!

Burt, would we be marching for the same reasons though?

Lol, that would be the real question..

I can imagine this to be on the Board in a 2050's classroom.

      Q. What was the cause of the second civil war.
      A. The 305million march.

Well, if there was an issue that every single person agreed on, there would be nothing to march about, right? It would already be done.

We have issues that the majority of Americans agree that something needs to have done but we disagree on how (e.g. campaign finance reform, immigration reform, ethics in politics, healthcare reform, etc.). Most politicians won't touch these issues.

Now if all one billion plus people in India show up on the steps of Capitol Hill, then I'll be impressed.

So the entire country is supposed to cease functioning and everyone has to shrink him or herself to about the size of a mouse or less? Whoever posted this has a desperately wild imagination that defies the limitations of space.

Plus there's the whole thing about many people being happy with the election results.

That would amount to about 50 billion pounds concentrated on a few acres of land, which would destabilize the earth's axis rotation and send us on a collision course with the moon. Is that what you really want?

lets do 100,000,000 hell 50,000,000....... but what is the issue!

Space, the economy, logistics. A million will fill the mall from the Capitol to the Washington Monument. If you add more, the spillover reaches to the Lincoln Memorial. Watch. You'll see on Jan. 20th.

Now there is a terrorists wet dream if I ever heard of one.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle security. Movement used to be free, but since 9/11 there have been checkpoints on July 4th. Course these days those might be in part to snatch alcohol. I don't know how they dealt with Bush's inaugurations, because I sat those out.

      Absolutely, what a logistical nightmare.

But the problem isn't really the crowd. But everything else.

Dirty bombs, chemical/biological, even suitcase nukes. (in theory such a device could be in place alreday.)

Or imagine an airplane flown into the crowd... That scenario alone scares the .... outta me. I'll give you 10/1 odds that any airplane on an inbound course that doesn't answer quick will be dealt with pretty harshsly.

But then again, I've said the same thing about the superbowl for 7 years...

Nobody's allowed in the air space anywhere near the capital. They'd be shot down before they could do any damage.
