The Washington Independent has published an interesting "Senate Public Option Scoreboard," washingtonindependent.com/59440/senate-public-option-scoreboard
The numbers are 46 "probably for," 38 "probably against," and 15 "on the fence."
The piece names the senators and gives information about their stance and their role in the debate.

It was certainly an interesting piece. It is kind of irrelevant though since no plan in the senate contains a true public option.

Umm, NewBlogger, it is relevant insofar as a bill has to pass the whole senate, and then there is the reconciliation process between the House and Senate. While it sure seems like the public option will die, it is by no means off the table yet. As antics points out, there is still a whole lot of horse-trading going on.
If nothing else, you can refer to this list whenever you hear a senator expressing an opinion to know what his or her role is and where he or she has been on the issue.

It's really sad to see Maria Cantwell (D-WA) backing down from her idea, which I actually thought was a very good one and has become my own. ("What would I tell the people of Washington State?" How about that you finally had a good idea and decided to be Esau and give up your birthright for a bowl of soup!)
