Obama has got Virginia, whose capital was once the capital of the Confederacy. Changing times!

Prince William, Fairfax, and Loudon counties really made the difference. I was also amazed at seeing blue around Richmond and near Norfolk.

Maybe now we can stop with the rhetoric about what is "real Virginia" or not. Those votes were real enough.

That is assuming people who say that are racist, isn't it? I don't think it was a racial thing.

I don't see how race has anything to do with my comment, unless you go back to George Allen and his "macaca" statement in 2006. For McCain's brother northern Virginia was "Communist" and for Palin and McCain we were part of that decadent, Eastcoast metropolitan elite. That's the rhetoric I had in mind when I made my previous comment.

Of course, northern Virginia is also ethnically diverse. I see it in the student body of George Mason University.

Haven't times been changed in America for a long time? I'm pretty sure it has. That would suggest people vote based on skin color, I hope that was a very small amount of people and wish it was none at all.

I don't get the logic of your comment. Haven't had a chance to look at the data for this election, but no one is talking about Obama winning on the basis of race.
