JMKWritesWell's profile Justin M. Kolenc / 28, Male / Member since February 2008 / Last seen 3 hours ago
I served in the US Navy for 5 years in three main roles. I began as an undesignated deck seaman and worked in Deck Division aboard the USS Reuben James (FFG-57) for 18 months. Following 9/11 I worked as a full time military police officer with the Pearl Harbor Auxiliary Security Force. Finally, I served for roughly two years as an intelligence analyst at the Joint Intelligence Center Pacific.
My blog is called "Words From Justin M. Kolenc: Sailor turned Writer." The subject matter is mostly writing and publishing, but there is a little bit of military related content, as well as some discussion of current events, science, and technology.
I have written a book about my time in the US Navy. It's called, "Five Years in Hawaii: A True Saga of International Adventure and the US Naval Intelligence Community." It is not yet published but I have recently been given the green light from the Department of the Navy and I'm talking with an agent now.
