Once upon a time I was born Guyanese royalty in a gorgeous suburban ghetto of NYC. Writer, TV personality, indie filmmaker & goddess passionista, my debut novel DARE, published by Simon & Schuster, is the wild adventure of a woman learning to live by her own rules. For the past 2 years I've been a BET host and I've also hosted shows for HBO & NBC. I'm a host & producer of The Planet Abiola Show for blackplanet, the largest African American community on the web. My films have explored topics ranging from mental illness & relationship violence to sexuality.
