Allerleirah (Allerleirauh, All-Kinds-Of-Fur), in the Grimm's fairytale, was a girl who escaped an undesirable marriage by working in a kitchen in a cloak of furs to hide her beauty. There are many tales about women who maintained their purity by covering themselves in hair. I've always found that interesting. Especially since, over the past eight or so years, I have struggled with hirsutism that has never been completely diagnosed. I've seen the articles, I've seen the forums, I've seen doctors and laser technicians and more disposable razors than you could shake a stick at. I've always been the sort to prefer uncomfortable situations being handled with a certain amount of light-heartedness, and so I began to a blog to help work through my challenges, hopefully support the estimated 5-10% of women like me, and humanize this disorder most people find so unattractive.
