I was born in Iquique, a port city located on the North of Chile.
Being part of a numerous nitrate mining family, I lived my childhood and part of my youth in small mining towns in the middle of the Atacama Desert.
17 years of my life were lived under Pinochet’s regime, and it was precisely the lack of democracy that encouraged me to find out more about its virtues.
