I am ‘5 going on 40’ most of the time, probably ’40-ish’ on a Good Day, and ’50-ish’ on a Not-So-Good-Day. Until nearly 2 years ago I was working as a full time Health Care Professional in a busy city UK hospital. Then my 92 year old Father-in-Law, in the early-ish stages of dementia, developed further health care requirements. So I became his full time main carer. The wages that had seemed somewhat paltry in the great scheme of things were suddenly clearly Riches Of Great Price, as I now found my need to exist on the Princely Sum of £46.00 per week Carer’s Allowance. Mmmmn. Interesting Life Change.
