Singletude was born to counteract the second-class treatment that singles are subjected to on a regular basis. Since households headed by singles now weigh in at 50.3% of the U.S. population, she thinks it's time we threw our weight around! The singletude philosophy isn't about masking loneliness with a fake smile; it's about acknowledging that a human life doesn't have to be paired to have value. And that means when we ARE partnered, we need to regard each other as worthwhile individuals, not disposable entertainment. This blog is based on that philosophy and includes practical tips for singles, the latest news and research on the single life, and discussions of the cultural and philosophical implications of singlehood. Blogger Clever Elsie, a New York-based, twenty-something single writer, editor, web entrepreneur, and voiceover talent, is the voice behind Singletude.
