I am an artist. My adventures into this vocation started when I was very young, when my first commission was painted at age 12. I have then since earned a BA in Applied Art & Design, worked in the design arena for a number of years and for the past 13 years I have been painting professionally. My work is created with soft pastel on sandpaper. A medium that is dry and dusty. Most of my pastels are rolled by hand creating unique and sometimes irreplaceable colors, although I do use manufactured pastels on occasion. The painting surface is Archival grade Wallis Museum sanded paper that holds the pigment well and sometimes gives my work the appearance of an oil painting.
Professional memberships include Northwest Pastel Society, Beaverton Arts Commission, Portland Plein Air Painters, and an EBSQart "Plus" member. I also enjoy teaching Art Literature to my community's youth.
