I love life thanks to my family and friends and my passion for travel and writing. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, I lived my first 6 years in Nigeria, West Africa. My parents then moved to Paris. I'm fluent in French and Danish and received my B.Sc. in Environmental Science from UEA in the U.K. After several years hopping between Scotland, Belgium and France, I landed in California where I met my husband through a newspaper ad. We've been married 22 years and have three sons 21, 18 and 14. In 2004 we left our comfortable life in Orange County, and moved to an island in Belize. WHY? We had 3 reasons: * To rescue our 16-year-old son from some bad choices he'd made in high school. *To escape the OC rat race. *To teach our kids gratitude instead of entitlement. We moved from a large 5 bedroom house, to a hut on stilts. We learned to live with less and to appreciate each other more. Our family changed, including my husband and I, in unexpected ways. The best part was our son turned into a good young man with a bright future ahead of him. My memoir, "From Freeways to Flip-Flops," will be ready to submit to agents and editors in 2009.
