I'm a happily married guy living in a lovely island town in North Carolina, USA. My wife and 4 cats round out the household, and provide inspiration to do something neat, cool, great, fun, and wonderful each and every day.

I started blogging in early 2004, launching several political-themed blogs. I found the game BlogShares that year, and started making connections that still run strong to this day. I soon worked my way up from player to editor, then to administrator, and in 2006, I joined the site's Board of Directors. I also showed an interest in programming and sysadmin tasks and software, starting with HTML and CSS, and expanding to MySQL, PHP, XML, and even a smattering of Java and Ruby. I am currently a freelancer and partner with Santa Cruz Tech, and have been involved in the production and administration of dozens of web sites, IM bots, and other net-based projects.

I've started and abandoned more blogs than I can remember, but the one that remains my strongest work is the Free Sample Forager, which supports my sampling hobby.

I love music of all sorts, travelling, sci-fi/fantasy novels, photography, swimming, and naturally, spending time on the local beach.
