I've been a diary keeper since I was ten years old so blogging on the internet is a natural for me. And that's one heck of a long time considering that I'm old enough to qualify for Medicare. I'm known as the Aphasia Decoder because I've spent the better part of a decade "decoding" my husband, Don's, aphasia and apraxia---two language disorders caused by a massive stroke that left him right side paralyzed. Laughter, frustration and patience trade places in this strangely amazing place where we live, a place known in my imagination as the Planet Aphasia. Some days I write about stroke, caregiver or disability issues. Other days I might blog philosophical views on searching for meaning in a complicated world, or about something mundane going on in my day-to-day life. Hopefully, on occasion I write something that resonates with others out there in cyberspace.
