I've been a diary keeper since I was ten years old so blogging on the internet is a natural for me. And that's one heck of a long time, considering that I'm old enough to qualify for Medicare. I'm known as the Aphasia Decoder because I've spent a decade "decoding" my husband, Don's, aphasia and apraxia---two language disorders caused by a massive stroke that left him right side paralyzed. Laughter, frustration and patience trade places in this strangely amazing place where we live, a place known in my imagination as the Planet Aphasia. I have four blogs: one for caregiver, general life and disability issues; one for our dog's view of our world; one for family genealogy; and that houses my speech class diary. J. Riva
